Hello! I'm using a Baxi Luna Duo-tec E boiler with a Mago thermostat. I have an issue where the Heating Curve and Control Strategy menu points are not accessible. According to the manual: "The display shows the Heating Curve only if your installation is fit for this option." Could you please provide information on the requirements for configuring this setting?

What never seems to be mentioned is that to make Open Therm work you need the link in the boiler removed (just as you would for a normal on / off thermostat) & also you need to activate Open Therm in the Nest thermostat - in: settings, pro setup, continue, combi & then select heat with Open Therm.

On the Baxi 830 combi 2, to use OpenTherm you must remove the link and put a link in the 240v RT (traditional). Or vice versa if you wish to use the RT 240v, place a link in the OpenTherm block. My Google Nest 3rd Gen would not fire the heating as I had no link in 240v RT. There is no mention of this in the service manual.

Looking for the training on how to install opentherm Nest Gen 3 with Ideal C35 combi boiler ? Any tips/diagram/vid please share, thanks

1) Does a modulating boiler only modulate down the burner, or does it also modulate the rad pump flow rate? 2) is the modulation power (kw) set by the opentherm stat or is the flow temp set by an opentherm stat and then the boiler chooses the appropriate kW? 3) if I use a weather compensating control like a google nest, does that automatically set the boiler output or does it set the flow temperature?

Great questions we need clarity on all of this!

So you have to remove the link on the traditional on/off thermostat connection when using the opentherm connection?

yes. Does the link at the boiler need to be removed if Open Therm is used or only if the normal on / off relay terminals are used?
@45graham452 жыл бұрын
Yes, I now know that it does need to be removed.

Are you really saying opentherm was available on baxi or any boilers in 2004 ?

Does anybody k of if the OT comply with boiler+?

Why don't plumper know what opentherm is?. I had to wire in my own control to get Opentherm to work.

Sadly this boiler and the Main ECO Compact (same boiler) are not compatible with Honeywell Evohome as Baxi, unlike many other boiler manufacturers, lockout the flow controls on the boiler front. The reason they do this is to push you towards the Baxi Opentherm controller but this won't run multiple zones unlike Evohome. Unfortunately Evohome does not provide flow control as Honeywell believe flow control should be maintained at the boiler, so you're stuffed with this combination or any other controller with Baxi that doesn't allow flow control. Gutted!

We have a Baxi 600 combi connected to a Honeywell R8810 Opentherm bridge and an Evohome Evotouch. Since connecting the Opentherm bridge, the boiler controls are now locked out with DCH set at 80 and DHW at 60. I'm assuming these are the maximum temperatures allowed but I would ideally like some control of the hot water temperature and I would also like to set DHW to 55c max but I can't see any way of doing either of these through the Evohome Touch. Any ideas?

So the benefit to why we should fit Open Term is an app!!!!! Is that it, or have I missed something
@edc15694 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure the main point is so the flow temperature tracks heating demand, curious why that wasn't mentioned.

I think its to do with modulation unless thats just auto?

Waste of time , app is the benefit of an open therm

Do we need all this crap on what is essentially just another white goods, product, are we going to do this to washing machines, and tumble dryers?
@Leonards-leopard2 жыл бұрын
Modern front loading washing machines and tumble dryers are both capable of modulating speed so yes, we have
