As beautiful as this song is, you almost forget this is a cheating song. Lol. I am a Black Man who loves me some country music. I thought I throw that out there. Lol. The first country concert I ever went to was Reba Mcentire around 1995. Talking about a goooood time. Yes there were only about 3 more people who look like me, but I did not give a DAMN. I paid good money for my ticket and I got my money worth. This was next to the last song they sang before turning the lights out. Thank you Sandy Knox and Billy Stritch for writing such a CLASSIC HIT.

Reba picked Linda Davis to do this sing with. Her manager suggested Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, and couple others. Reba said yea they would work like it was no big deal. A couple of days later Reba said to her manager and producer "What about my back up singer Linda Davis?". they just looked at her and said "You had her in your mind all along didn't you?". Reba just smiled. Reba told that story on Bill Anderson visit with the legends

I think Linda Davis was also picked not only for her voice, but because she is unknown to most of us and you couldn't get the effect of Reba and "the other woman" with someone well known and friends with Reba for a long time.

I was one of those who was cheated on, and this song came out not too much later. The video when the boat blew up...I loved it!! This song still brings me back to that time in my life every time I hear it but that's ok because I met and married a truly good man about 15 years later. He died nearly 6 years ago, but the time we had was so much fun and so precious even though his illness was there almost the entire time we were married. But we laughed...oh how we laughed during our time together.❤

I saw them live in concert 4 or 5 times in the 90s singing this. It was a true show stopper. I was living in Nashville in 2000. One day I was going into a post office in a small town outside of Nashville as Linda was walking out. I yelled out LINDA DAVIS! as I kept walking. She just smiled and kept walking too. 😜. Saw them do this song in Tupelo where they each came up through the stage Reba in a red sequined dress and Linda in a White sequined dress on opposite ends of the stage. As they sang they walked toward each other and got on a platform and were lifted up and brought out over the crowd. It was unreal! The crowd went wild! I cannot find a video of it. Have searched for hours.
