Great video....if your teen is in a risky situation and calls for help, better to get them home safe and sound. The lectures can wait a day. Parents, PLEASE don't ever make your kids afraid of calling or talking to you when they REALLY need you.

Amen. I know a lady her 18 year old son called her drunk and needed a ride home cuz he was to scared to drive home. His mom chose to stay the night with some dude and told her son to drive home. Her son wrecked and is paralyzed from his neck down and his whole life is ruined cuz his mom wouldn’t take the time to make sure her child was safe. Parents please protect your children

December 8th, 2011 my family lost our rock with the passing of our grandfather. His passing was what truly broke my innocent heart and opened my eyes to death. Since then I have lost a great aunt, two great uncles, numerous upper and lower classmates and a wonderful woman who was like another mother to me. I also became a nurse and in my 2 year nursing career have held the hands of many as they grew closer to the end. It is never easy to know what to say to a family member in those moments. We have to just let our hearts lead the way.

Wow I never knew Terry Silver (Karate Kid III, Cobra Kai) was once such a loving father and devoted husband! All kidding aside, cancer is a terrible disease and after losing my father to lung cancer this video hits home. Thomas Ian Griffith is a GREAT actor, and Reba is a both a great singer and actress. Awesome video.

My condolences on your loss. I was much older than you are now when I lost my mama to cancer and it wasn't any easier. I hope for you what I have found for myself: as time goes on, I hear my mama's voice in my head with her wisdom and caring words and I find myself remembering her with laughter as often as I remember her with tears. My mama loved to laugh and I hope yours did too.

@@monikamartin6002 You are--you have a dad who loves you and I firmly believe your mom still loves you as well. I know my mama still loves me--every now and then, when I am wrestling with some conundrum in my life, I get a little mental push out of nowhere and I am convinced it is from my mama, helping me figure things out again. I can't explain it rationally, but the sense of her there-ness is very strong in those moments.

@@GrainneDhub-ll6vwYou know something which helps me? I pray every night, but I also have a 1-2 minute conversation with my mom. Obviously it's verbally one-sided, but somehow things seem clearer after I do. I think you have a similar dynamic which works for you. The connection will forever be strong between you're mom and you, and mine and me. That's something I don't take for granted.

When dying of leukemia back in the 40's, my five-year-old sister, who I never knew, was told by the doctor that she was going to heaven. Her reply was... I don't want to go to heaven, I want to go home. Every time my mother used to tell me of this story it made me so sad, yet so joyful. My sister wanted to go home. But that's exactly where she went. Home to Heaven!

I’m 36 years young with two beautiful teenage daughters who this song just gives me time 💆🏽‍♀️ to think as I’m going through stage 3 cancer cervical ovarian and uterine cancer and can’t have any surgeries only radiation and chemotherapy treatments 6 days a week and I listen 🎧 listen 👂🏽 to Reba as she’s been my idol my whole life. My daughters are ages 14 and 16 going on 25 and both just discovering “Boys” as much as I wanna lecture them 😢I have to be there for them so they know I’m always here with an open ear and heart but I’m also momma first and they forget I used to be there exact ages. I wanted nothing more than to be grown. I now realize adulting completely sucks “sometimes” !! I’d do anything to be a kid again but then again I’m graceful enough to just enjoy each and every single day with my wonderful family! I wouldn’t change anything because I wouldn’t be who I am today! What do you say???😊 Thanks for listening and remember you never know what the next person may be going through in life so always be kind! I write this today and every like this comment gets it will keep reminding me why god gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers. Some of us don’t make it but just know no matter what we tried. We don’t give up we just get tired sometimes so tired that our bodies just can’t take it anymore and that’s okay. God has the only expiration date, not us. Nobody wants to go through what this stupid cancer diagnosis does to a person. We fight and fight 🥊🥊until faith is all you got!! I’m so sorry about your mom and especially with the holidays coming up again so fast. Always know she’s right there next to you in spirit, god gives us our babies to love and take care of them but nobody is promised tomorrow, keep your head up and know she’ll always be there!! I’ve got one daughter that’s mine mine and I was blessed with my now wild 😜 16 yr old bonus daughter but I love them both the same. I was actually pregnant 🤰🏽 with my first son when I found this news out and they had to terminate the pregnancy immediately and that hurts the most. But what you say!!? I just pray for another day!! ❤heartbroken 🙏🏽☝🏽. 👂🏽🫣🫢 ❤

I still absolutely cannot sing the line "she looks at him and says i wanna go home" without bawling.

This song has always moved me. But after losing my sister to cancer when she was 47, the video hits in a different way. I count so many of Reba's songs in my life's soundtrack - songs I was listening to when certain events happened - but this is one that I rediscovered after Liz's death and entered it into my soundtrack long after it's initial release. In August, I found out I have thyroid cancer... and I'm not truly a candidate for surgery... so, IF the medicine doesn't work... then,... I've tried to share my news with loved ones & this song is so strong... but, its truth--what do you say??... Its awkward for the ppl who have the disease... and awkward for the ones being told... this song needed to be sung & Reba is the one to make it felt! Thank you, Miss Reba for having a voice for those of us who need it!!!

+Sarah Kline Thank You!!! I do appreciate the prayers and thoughts... Saturday, was my 45th bday & no one did anything on that particular day; out of (100+ "friends/family" maybe 30 ppl wished me Happy Birthday)... but, the following day, my younger brother & family took me to brunch... and, some special ppl had a party for me & my god son and the ppl I invited didn't bother to show, (Which, hurts to a core); today my oldest sister took me for supper... I just wonder when my time is ending, will they even bother to miss me?! Because I feel that IF I had one more chance to visit with my loved ones who I've lost, I'd do it in a heartbeat!!!!

I just received a call 2 hrs ago from my dr that my cancer has came back. I'm 34 yrs old with 3 babies under the age of 10 their father just passed this Thanksgiving, I am down to 123lbs from 184lbs last yr, I have infections thru out my body, on my bladder my colon and a large mass in my abdomen. My youngest is my first born daughter who is only 18 months, I am in pain every day and now so so sick compared to before when I did treatments I was much more healthy. I guess my fight is not over yet, I love u Reba, ironically when I was about 9 yrs old this was my first cd I ever owned so I'm definitely finding some soloce in her music this evening.

+Missy R. It was about 11pm when I left the hospital room where my paternal (birth) grandfather was in the hospital's ICU. (they let me stay as long as I wanted along with my oldest daughter b/c with his dementia & the fact he thought he only had 2 grandchildren, myself & my younger sibling, along with knowing he had a great-granddaughter but it was b/c I was at the nursing home over lunch breaks at least 2-3x a week or more & I brought the kids in every weekend, esp on Sundays when the nursing home patients & their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, etc... all had sundae ice creams. That was the greatest times he remembered out of all those years...). He told me before I left that he was going home. I told him it wouldn't be long before he & Mr. Arnie would be back together again & I kissed his cheek & gave him a hug then told him I'd see him in the morning. The kids were tired & I had to get them down for bed. That night, my MIL called shortly after 3:30am. She was a nurse on the wing where he was a patient & since I was listed as a contact person - and the fact I was her son's wife & this was 1 of 3 people from my paternal birth family I had anything to do with b/c of their jealousy & in-fighting... He passed away in his sleep. All I could do was drop to the floor & went on about how I'd broken my promise to him. He didn't want to die alone. She assured me he wasn't alone. Out of all the people who died from illness & age or both, my MIL & other nurses knew when a person was about to die. So she & 3 of her friends went in to sit with him & they held his hands & rubbed his calves & feet while letting him know he wasn't alone and how they were there to be with him to keep the promise his granddaughter made to him. He didn't die alone. He died with 4 of the most amazing women I know and ones I am proud to say were with him as he made his journey to cross over to the other side. It isn't easy for me to listen to this song b/c the ending always reminds me of my grandfather. My birth father was a piece of drunken crap but my grandfather, he was the total opposite, and ashamed of his son & what he did to his wife & children. This song & the one "You Can Let Go" aka You Can Let Go Now Daddy is another that's difficult for me b/c I lost the one man I knew as Dad. He passed away about a week before Christmas in 2013. I've lost my surrogate mom 11yrs ago this past March & I lost Dad 1yr & 8mos ago. It's hard being an adult orphan because you don't have parents to go to for advice anymore. Mom passed away at home in her bed while asleep. She began to give up the fight with the autoimmune diseases & the problems it creates. (I have 4 autoimmune diseases myself & I dread reaching the point she did in the end.)

When my dad died, I was eighteen and a senior in high school. This song really fits the description of what I felt on the outside. On the inside, at first I didn’t feel pain, I wasn’t sad, I wasn’t angry, I wasn’t happy, I was numb. Although I cried, I was numb and there’s no way to describe the numbness or the intense pain and guilt of pulling the life support after the numbness wore off. I went to school the day after he died, I only missed the day of the funeral. It’s like my mind went into autopilot when my heart shut down completely. Then my mind had so much anguish after and my heart was still shut down and the pieces began to have feeling.

I was about 4 when this song came out and I never understood what it meant. I'm 25 now and the lyrics are so relatable to me because I lost my best friend from childhood cancer 8 years ago. He was only 15 and I've known him since the 3rd grade. What do you say when you find out your best friend is diagnosed with a rare cancer and only has 6 months to live? What do you say when you get a phone call from your best friend's father saying the cancer has spread and there's nothing the doctors can do? What do you say when you get another phone call saying he's gone forever???!!! There's nothing I could say and it still hurts me so bad! I miss him so fucking much and I would do ANYTHING to have him back!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

This song reminds me of my mom who passed in August due to blood cancer and my grandmother who passed in December in the same year due to breast cancer. I miss them both so much already. But glad they aren’t in any more pain and are reunited again. This song makes me think of both of them and makes me cry pretty much every time. I’m only 11 and these things are already happening and tbh idk what to rlly do anymore but this song helps me a lot.
