This will always be a touching moment. Reba was recovering after the sudden loss if her entire band. I commend her for having the courage to even attend after such a horrifying event. Not to mention to dedicate the award to her band's memory. Classy lady she is.

Yeah, her band members were killed in a plane crash in March 16 of this year, 1991. I love how Reba is so humble and she deserves this.

She said that dolly parton and Vince gil called her right after and offered to come help her with their bands because she had a tour to finish even after losing her 8 band members. I can't imagine how difficult it was for her to finish knowing they weren't there with her.

We had her and her Band at the Tulsa State Fair, for entertaining , thru our Radio Station, KTOW located in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. They were unique and Real Country, I will never for get that I meet, Reba Mc Entire and her first band members, we all shook their hands and Thank Them for such Awsome Shows and Songs. This was the same year her band died in that plane crash righr? 1991? Because I was just curious why on the Wikipedia page for this particular event she isn't listed as the winner for this award. Must be a mistake on Wiki.

The Academy of Country Music Awards sucks. The Country Music Association awards are better. the reason why I think the academy sucks is because all they do is give out too many useless awards like new male vocalist, new female vocalist and new vocal Duo group along with milestone awards and Artist of the Decade. For me what makes an award show good as when you do not have a lot of categories. that's why I think the association is better than the academy because they don't have they don't give out useless Awards, the academy does that. Besides the purpose of the Country Music Association (Nashville 1958) is to promote the genre of country music. The purpose of the Academy of Country Music (Los Angeles 1958) is to promote country music in the 13 states west of Texas Oklahoma Kansas Nebraska and The Dakotas, since their 50th award show was held in Texas. I'm aware that the ACM was the first to have a country music award show so if you like country music like me I say ditch the academy and support the association. Plus when you think about it the academy selects people that the fans would select.
