One thing about Patrick stump is he isn’t the media’s main focal point when it comes to fall out boy. Unlike most bands where people focus on the main singer Patrick didn’t want that attention. Therefore he asked the bassist (Pete Wentz) to kind of take that role
@sandydog4266 жыл бұрын
Yeah I remember older interviews with them where they pretty much said just that--that Wentz didn't mind it as much and took the "frontman" role, which as you said is unusual for a rock band. I think it led to some mental health issues/stress on Wentz's part and Stump has said he regrets the way Pete has been portrayed in the past.

The three bands Twenty Øne Piløts, Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco are really close friends. Pete Wentz (the bassist) even signed Panic! and is working alongside former P!ATD member Spencer Smith. Brendon has even described Pete as an older brother. It's quite common that if you are a fan of one of these bands, you like the others too. That also includes My Chemical Romance (a band in the so called "Emo Trinity" with FOB and P!ATD). That's why Gerard Way is being requested so much. Aside from just these 4, people are usually fans of the bands All Time Low and Paramore. That leads to Alex Gasgarth and Hayley Williams being requested a lot. Also you probably know so many of these songs because Fall Out Boy has been quite a mainstream (at least some of the songs) band for many many years, and been a band (ignoring the hiatus) for at least 17 years.

One of the things that's interesting about Patrick is he sings by muscle memory: he specifically doesn't have his own voice in the mix in his ear-pieces because he knows the pitch by how his body/diaphragm feels. It's something that makes a lot of other musicians go "bzuh?" because it's not a talent they have. Also, Pete (the bassist) is the lyricist and Patrick composes the music.

He's such an overly polite, overly kind, kinda awkward, kinda shy and sweet guy that people only call him cute, teddy bear, or don't pay enough attention to him unless he's singing... Because he uses his voice as a true instrument. Its an amazingly beautiful thing to watch and listen to. And also knowing that he has Asperger's makes it even more inspiring to me personally because his passions seem to just melt away any problems anyone in the world my have.

@Rebecca You really should listen to him sing the piano version of Young and Menace here on KZbin. I also recommend you listen to their album Mania, and the older song w.a.m.s, especially the "secret" song at the end. You're welcome.

Anyone who's never seen them live is missing out. I don't know how they picked the 'best' clips, he was always amazing. And he's not even an @$$hole (Pete is). Really nice soft spoken guy, wanted to help when I was sick outside a venue one night.
