Bugoy was a very simple lad from the province who used to sing to his carabao (it’s a beast of burden found here). The young farmer also worked as a janitor in the school he went to, from what I remember. He joined and won second place in Pinoy Dream Academy season 2. He started out as a balladeer and doing reggae was just something he later discovered he could do. I saw a kind of recent video when a father-and-child reactor team went back to the Philippines and met up with him (they met when the child was littler...dunno if the child’s mom is related to Bugoy somehow). Anyway, he said there it’s weird because he seems to like doing this style more now and that he feels he’s become more creative.

Its funny how vocal coach/instructors have all these proper "Terminologies" for every word delivery, mouth expressions, toungue positions, dictions, voice controls, lips movements, breathing techniques, etc etc etc and with all these fancy words to describe or explain whats going on with the singer during their performance. The simple fact is ... for most simple Filipino singers living in Philippines (popular and non popular alike), to them its just all about FEELINGS and THATS IT !!! thats all they need to have !!!! They just thoroughly FEEL any song they perform with genuine LOVE of music. They absorb music and words like a sponge, feels it deeply and just sing their heart out. IT IS A NATURAL THING for them. Theyre not so conscious about all these technicalities coz in reality, those lessons can wait and in most cases they dont even need them at all nor need to learn it, unless ofcourse Someone else comes in and tries to "coach" them Lol . Ill say it again, ITS JUST ABOUT FEELINGS !!! Feeling the meaning of the song by itself is the secret recipe and all these "Techniques" will just comes out naturally on its own, this genuine feeling is what carries the song through. Thats the ONLY reason why filipino singers becomes great singers. PERIOD.
