@Valariuss
@Valariuss 4 жыл бұрын
Mercedes Sosa was a legend in Argentinian Folk Music and she was well known in lots of latin american countries. You will hear her pronuncing the Rs differently from the usual Spanish sounds at minute 5:00 and this is purely due to her accent. She was from the northen part of Argentina and they do tend to drag the Rs a bit more there. I literally cry when she sings "Alfonsina y el Mar", maybe is the way she's feeling the song or maybe the story behind the lyrics. Thank you Rebecca for reacting to her! I love watching your reactions and your covers!

Its so funny that you mentioned the R thing, because in my country Costa Rica in all the country we drag the R, just in the north part of the country the accent has a lot of influence of the Nicaraguan accent and they pronounce good the R

Hello, look for the song Alfonsina y el mar sung by Mercedes Sosa. It´s about a poet (Alfonsina Storni) who commits suicide by entering the sea. It´s the most beautiful thing you will hear.

This are the lyrics in english, here you can see way she seemed to feel so much the words of the song as she sang, there is a lot of wisdom in them, this are very beautiful thoughts expressed through the song. Thanks to life Thanks to life, which has given me so much. It gave me two beams of light, and when I open them, I perfectly distinguish black from white And in the sky above, and its starry background, And from within the multitude, the man I love. Thanks to life, which has given me so much. It gave me an ear that, in all of its width Records- night and day-crickets and canaries, Hammers and turbines and bricks and storms, And the tender voice of my beloved. Thanks to life, which has given me so much. It gave me sound and the alphabet. With them the words that I think and declare: "Mother," "Friend," "Brother" and the light shining the route of the soul of which I am loving. Thanks to life, which has given me so much. It gave me the ability to walk with my tired feet. With them I have traversed cities and puddles Valleys and deserts, mountains and plains. And your house, your street and your patio. Thanks to life, which has given me so much. gave me the heart that shakes its frame When I see the fruit of the human brain, When I see good so far from bad, When I see within the clarity of your eyes... [this line reminds me of your beautiful eyes ;) ] Thanks to life, which has given me so much. It has given me laughter and it has given me tears; so I distinguish happiness from brokenness, The two materials from which my songs are formed, And your song, as well, which is the the chant itself. And everyone's song, which is my own song. Thanks to life Thanks to life Thanks to life Thanks to life This sond was was written by the singer-songwriter Violeta Parra from Chile Hi from Argentina, love your channel :)

Cat gives ears back flat look of shame during computer monitor hugs.... I'm OK with that :) The soft acoustic guitar goes so well with her style as she moves up and down with its volume and pace. Actually, listening a second time now, seems the acoustic guitar is following her, more than the reverse. A beautiful song I feel deserves translation O' the day: "Thanks to life, which has given me so much it gave me two stars, that when I open them. Perfect I distinguish black from white and in the high sky its starry background and in the crowds the man I love. Thanks to life, which has given me so much it has given me the ear that in all its width record night and day, crickets and canaries, hammers, turbines, barking, showers and the tender voice of my beloved.

This song is like a prayer. The vocal and corporal interpretation is all about the lyrics. The dynamics of the voice accompany the prayer, and the letter the historical moment in which it was composed. Sometimes it is difficult to understand just by looking at the voice. For us Latinos, this music and interpretation is chilling, even if we have heard it hundreds of times.

When Mercedes Sosa died some newspapers in the world titled: "the voice of Latin America was extinguished" That was her: "LA VOZ", (the voice) Someone once said: if Latin America were a woman; she would look like Mercedes; she would sound like Mercedes. For me she was like the incarnation of "PACHAMAMA"; deity of the Andean peoples that represents Mother Earth. The sweetness and depth of the timbre of his voice is mesmerizing. His voice seems infinite flow. My mother said: "she is incredible; she does not make the slightest effort, she will only open her mouth and the magic comes out" You must listen to more songs from her. His repertoire is beautiful; It includes the best poets in Latin America. Greetings from Argentina.

Rrrrebecca! I have heard "whatever floats your boat" before, but I hear, especially in the USA "whatever rocks your boat" more often.

Hello, Rebecca. I loved your reaction to Mercedes Sosa. I'm from Argentina and in here she's a total Goddess. I would like to recommend you another of our most beloved artists, Lolita Torres. I'm certain that you'll absolutely love her work. I've been looking for some reactions to her songs on KZbin and I couldn't find any. I guess you're gonna love 'Caminito soleado' sung by Lolita. Kisses. I love your channel.

She did a duo with Gustavo Cerati for Zona de Promesas. Also, Alfonsina y el Mar is great.
