Thirty years- crazy isn't it? I had bought their cassette ("Pussy Whipped") after hearing about the Riot Grrl movement a few years earlier. That was the summer women marched on D.C. in numbers big enough to scare the Supreme Court from rolling back Roe v. Wade. 🙂

I remember it was about the mid 90s I heard them in a radio show. At the end they announced an adress so I wrote to klll Rock Stars label explaining that here in Mexico City I couldn´t find any record from them, and guess what...Tobi answered my letter and sent me a catalogue to mail order as well as a CD, Reject All American. I couldn´t believe it. Obviously I went to their concert here in Mexico City last March.

After watching: Of course they still completely kick ass. So, so happy. I'm sad I no longer have my whole rebel life ahead of me as when I first heard Bikini Kill, but somehow this is the most hopeful thing I have seen in ages. They still fucking kick ass. They are still the rebels they were. Maybe I am too. God, I needed this. Thank you, Late Show. So surreal hearing Colbert say "Bikini Kill", and so utterly awesome.

I saw them when I was a young woman too. I was thrilled to see them again recently when I was in my late 40’s. They finished with Rebel Girl and I was surprised by how emotional I felt! Got tears in my eyes, sort of a mix of happiness and sadness… it was very overwhelming
