The spider alien woman is Jena Malone. The antlered robot at the beginning is Sir Anthony Hopkins. The “lightsabers” are molten hot katanas. One of the moons in the story has a ritual for the warriors that includes amputating their arms and replacing them with robot arms that have ancient gauntlets that the swords pop out from. The weapons are so molten hot no human hands can hold them. So in my opinion these weapons seem more exciting than just lightsabers. The katanas can also be used as just swords without the heat, so they are useful even when they aren’t activated. 😍

Thank you for mentioning Hotel Artemis. That movie is actually pretty solid for it being confined to 1 location. Sofia Boutella as an actress can sell the badass heroine type to the character which is the most important aspect to get right in this kind of movie. This is definitely her breakout role as the main lead in a blockbuster finally.

I am so glad to know I am not the only one who noticed some of the Jupiter Ascending parts to this. I did not absolutely love Jupiter Ascending, but I did think it was underrated and had some fun moments to it with lots of cool potential to be better. To me, this seems like a much more action-packed Dune with some Star Trek mixed with Andor in it and some Jupiter Ascending with 300.

THIS CAST IS PERFECT. As always. I'm in. I don't know how you pass Zack Snyder either, but if WB is dumb enough to not let this man cook, i'm not surprised 20th century fox Lucasfilm was just as idiotic back in the day. Today Lucasfilm is a Disney property. But hey... I'm pretty sure they are regretting not having this guy on their side. EVERY DC MOVIE is flopping now that Zack is gone. I think because he doesn't want to go woke and gives the females and males a strong presence they don't like that, which is bizarre honestly, looking bk to BVS with his WW, Snyder had a great WW only for WB to try and tone everything down and cheese it up. Big mistake, can't stand the meddling that goes on today. No wonder they have chosen Gunn, he fits that mould of cheese and woke juvenile delinquent nonsense. 👎🏽 It's not about making good movies anymore for these strange run companies, it's all about getting into kids minds and influencing them with rotten nonsense that no one likes or asked for.
