Sad no one understands that the south did not fight to prolong or preserve the present state or any state of slavery, but for states rights. Every southern state aside from mississippi and South Carolina had been arranging the methodical and tactical avenue off of slavery amongst themselves without crippling the rich who owned slaves. The fed govt forced it upon them over riding they’re state sovereignty and they did what a patriot should do. Seceded from an oppressive regime. And then fought back when the oppressor forcefully tried to bring them back in. God bless every confederate soldier and every southerner and American that still knows the truth.
@penguinshoes79283 жыл бұрын
Nobody cares. You are correct, but where I live saying that could start a riot. People don't want the truth, they want their perspective to become the truth and anything that undermines it can't be tolerated. The long term loss from the civil war was the federal government establishing superiority over state governments. We were a country of united States with very limited federal powers (war, treaties with foreign nations, etc.). States ran themselves. Now we answer to DC.

We were simple Southerners drawn into war and forced to answer violence with vengeance. Later we fought for our own cause and hit our enemies where it hurt the most. We alluded the nation's top Yankees only to be betrayed by some of our own. Years after the civil war America is still a deeply divided nation . in the former Confederate States our pride is as strong as ever. the south is hungry for a new set of heroes ,proud rebels who ain't afraid to challenge the Yankees stranglehold on our commerce and our freedoms, we are those heroes. Southerners remember the antebellum period has a time of great honor and great chivalry. We are living reminders of this lost cause. Nobody is doing more the disrupt the post war Yankee business than us. In the late 1800s and even today we are at the top of our game. To our neighbors we are freedom fighters , a band of Robin Hood's continuing the good fight against the Yankees. We create a hell of an excitement in this part of the country. BLM terrorist are turning on America and Southerners like us are caught in the crosshairs. Now nothing is going to keep us off the battlefield anymore. This is a battle to defend our way of life. We are heroes to some villains to others and remembered by all. Even today Confederates are remembered more as heroes then the Yankees are. Modern Confederates are the rebels that never surrendered.

I will, however, judge them for portraying those ancestors either in a false manner that doesn’t take into account the prevailing attitudes of the time or, as is clearly happening on this thread, with rose coloured glasses that completely gloss over what historically happened. You cannot read the articles of cessation written by each state or Stephens’ keystone speech and say with a straight face it was about states’ rights. Also explain why people like Dylan roof and the New York buffalo shooter who committed hate crimes had the confederate flag. Explain why the kkk praised the confederate flag and was marching the streets with it in the past. Things like that are the reason why we feel like the confederate flag is more of symbol of hate than heritage.
