[INTEL] Greetings good captain. Three bits of info that I believe will be of use to you and the Alliance as you struggle against your enemies: 1) Rebel Officers: After completing my own campaign as the Rebels, there is, sadly, no apparent way to build new Field Commanders once they perish. Even after I had Tech 3 and became the New Republic, there were no options anywhere (BELIEVE ME I spent credits everywhere in the end game searching) for a place that could do it. Despite this, there are plenty of late game buildings and units to keep your options open. 2) Fleet Movements: Now that Luke 's battle-group is hovering over Intersection 2, send him West not East. The reason being is that the Suns are in possession of a key credit world: Ord Ibanna. This world is a space only conflict (same the intersections) so no need to worry about blockading or surface defenses. Once captured, you can build refineries and potentially earn more credits than Bespin. The only downside is that it will be on the front line and vulnerable to attack. 3)Corruption: The reason Kessel has cheep infantry is that Kessel is under corruption. Corruption makes every unit and structure (in space and ground) cheaper, but significantly increases built time, thus taking longer to make. Ironically, you tried to remove corruption there before with General Dodanna, but you ran out of funds, didn't realize, and then moved him away without completing the task. You may chose to leave corruption on the planet if you so choose, it will save you some credits, as long as you are mindful about the corruption connecting to any Suns controlled territory. I've noticed several times that Shack NEVER pays attention to his credits before an attack. He's run into the the lack of funds problem before but never seems to learn from his mistakes. I think he's depending too much of the scavenging funds he makes to squeeze through but it came back to bite him this time.

Patience is key on this game, especially this mod. You have to wait out the enemy in a siege. Even with no cash, cat & mouse with deliberate use of artillery and scout units will bait most of their units to their deaths. PS the Gallofree transport will cross over impassble terrain, it just needs to be lead manually.

Wow, what a wreck! Artillery is your friend. 3-4 units of it, keep it tight together, and advance slowly. It'll shell the crap out of anything. (Late-game, I've been using Luke, a couple Jedi, Rogue Squadron, and artillery to take planets. The Jedi build sensor arrays, the Rogues provide close air support, and 5-6 units of artillery crush anything that comes at them as long as they've got sufficient line of sight.)

Fliers in EaW tend to be able to pass over pretty much any terrain, they just don't like doing it and will behave as if they can't unless you click about 6ft. in front of them directly on the terrain you want them to cross. Regarding Officers, from my limited experience playing as the Black Sun, only certain planets can build certain facilities. Planets will list what special buildings can be built there for each faction.

(RP) Tatooine Rebel Garrison LT: Day 65, A huge ground force of old CIS battle droids were deployed in Tatooine. We were reinforced by one of the main rebel battle group but yet our odds of winning were slim. After a few hours of the fight, the dust cleared and a line of droids were lying dead on the ground. We held but some casualties. We got a lot of wounded here and are still being blockaded by a Black Sun fleet. Completed the campaign. I only got the option to build field commanders when I formed the New Republic so Rogue Squadron is super important. Speaking of air combat, if you just tell your speeders and fighters to stay just in range of what you want them to hit they'll hit it while hovering around that position. Very useful for keeping them alive. To upgrade your quasars you need to send them to a world with a fighter production facility, not frigate. And finally - general EAW advice. If you're not going to be throwing capital ship laser fire at a space station/capital ship immediately, there's no reason to prioritise hitting the shield generators over hangars.

Captain Shack, I have a few suggestions regarding your ground invasion forces. First, it might be wise to attach a couple of bomber wings to them permanently. That would make them less reliant of having a fleet in orbit. Also, when moving across longer distances, deactivate find cover on your infantry. When in motion, the extra speed will be better that the defense, and you can always reactivate it if they are attacked. You also need to get some more light mobile units to make use of scouting raids. Have a group of fast units move through the enemy to locate key units or structures, mark them for a bombing run, then have the units retreat before taking to much damage.

bombers always take the longest path (its so you actually have a chance to move/take them out) so if you are hitting a target in a corner, they will always come from the opposite corner. Keep that in mind when planning a bombing run on a defended planet.

Just a note: The Mon Calamari MC60A Carries 4 fighter squadrons which I believe is the same amount as the quasar, but exchanges the repair ability for more guns and shields. Obviously more expensive but might be a worthy replacement as your carriers. As for land battles? I grabbed an officer, some snowspeeders, and rouge squadron and basically laughed my way across the galaxy. Rebels don't need ponderous tanks! Just airstrike everything into oblivion and take the ground with troops! Obviously this just further proves our need for officers.

Shack, Bakura is a capital ship production world, if you wanna clip the Black Sun's wings, and get capital ships in the Hoth Zone, it's way easier to take than Sullust.

Shack, you should try taking Bakura. When you take the planet, you can get more tibanna gass for the Rebel Alliance. And also, see what you can do to take Ilum. Or at least try to raid it. If you take that planet, you can build a Jedi temple! I recommend you try to take Ilum. However, if you are successful in taking Ilum, I have a hunch that if you send Luke Skywalker to Ilum, the Jedi can be trained faster or become stronger and more experienced.

There are many options for the rebellion. The Kuat fleet could do raids on neighboring planets or you can build another fleet in Kuat and attack. Build another ground force and go after rogue squadron. Build a ground force to capture dathomir and more. Create a defensive fleet at yagor minor. Try to get luke back to defend that sector. Also you need a few commando troops to see if you can capture ships. I think the biggest advantage you have is the northeast sector of the galaxy. When you secure that sector then you can flood troops ship and credits into core planets

Shack, Each of your 'fleets' needs a couple of Quasar Fire carriers to beef up its fighter force. Those ships are insanely good force multipliers. Additionally a couple more Corvettes wouldn't be a bad thing either. Strategy wise I strongly advise to use Lukes fleet offensively to keep the Empire off balance. The more targets your hit, the less 'they' can concentrate on one of your worlds. Especially as you're still weak in the South. Perhaps build up the Southern fleet as a strike fleet of small, fast and nimble ships with fighter and bomber support? Certainly a good counter to the large Imperial Star Destroyers.

I think some advice would be is that because you have a multitude of capital ships, you're still going to come across large stacks of fighters, so try to complement them with anti-fighter support. Whilst you have spent the credits for the upgrade, which is highly needed no doubt, spend the credits that you receive waiting for the upgrade on bulk cruisers and the like. Only a suggestion, play how you choose, and love the series regardless.

You are able to move the troop transport over mountainous terrain and water but you have to actually tell it to go on top of the specific terrain. Once over top the terrain you can select where you want to go.

Shack if you click on a planet andhover over the income of it next to the name on the left side you see all the income for that planet (base income usually between 30-100 so governors dont really do all that much , trade routes, alliance bases etc) and also the expenses (Shield generators, ion cannons, shipyards etc) of it. Bespin the wheel Muunilist or Polus are the best places you could drop a governor.

Hey shack, i have no idea what is happening with your officer situation, it may be a bug, run it by the devs and see if they know whether or not it is. next i agree with the rest on your new focus in space, and i would add ground as well, being smaller lighter units, that can actually perform hit and run tactics. second the building of kotas militia is linked with your ship the liberation, when over a owned planet you can build militia units, i am not sure if there is a limit similar to mon cal and wookie units but i would assume. third i think you should consider building up defenses for a bit after your invasion of the hutts is concluded, positioning fleets and ground forces that are capable in multiple locations to allow for a much larger invasion to take place. good luck and loved the droid attack on the jawas

More carriers for shipyard raids (Luke in command of one group, Rogue Squadron leading another). That should lighten up the fleet attacks, and when you're tight on credits (like this episode), the raids are extremely cost effective.

So one thing that I know helped my games in the past (idk why it worked but it did reduce the amount of crashing when i reached mid-late game) try deleting older saves that you know you won't go back to. (that said, i'd still save after every ground battle/every couple of space battles just to be safe, and then off camera just delete older saves.)

shack, the transport can fly over much more than you would think, its just super picky about EXACTLY where you click, this is the same reason it is also picky with loading and unloading troops
