@@art2k179 Yeah like specifically what I imagine is that the tape or dvd isn’t an actual physical object in the worldspace, ditto with skate and combo. if you were to take everything into consideration into a real world setting, its a set of directions like the arrow in crazy taxi. The only thing I imagine that doesn’t work for theory wise is like, grabbing the hall passes… Though idk maybe someone could throw Tony a hall pass to mess with while he’s skating, cause fuck school or something like that

Funny thing is, The logic behind tapes was: the goal you finished was a challenge for a skate Video. and made reappearances in the Tony Hawk's Underground as Secret Videos, which included: Bails 1 (When you got 3 of the 9) Bails 2 (When you got 6) Always hard (When you got them all)

THPS 1 is the reason I skateboard today. I was around 5 when I started playing it, and nearly 2 years later I got my first REAL skateboard (not a walmart board, a real tony hawk birdhouse board). But I have to say one thing...all the other skaters in this game are legends in their own right. Rodney Mullen ( the guy who invented the kickflip btw), Geoff Rowley, Andrew Reynolds, Ellissa Steamer, all of em'! IDK why but I felt I had to say that. BTW Skate is great too. WAYY more realistic than THPS series.

I was 14 when it came out -- Three Kings and Fight Club had just been released in theaters. Whenever I hear music from this game, a chill goes up my spine and a smile creeps across my face -- regardless of current mood. I have to admit it makes me sad though, cause I'm 33 and old as fuck.

highly unrealistic physics.. but yet so fun. i played the shit out of the first one on the ps1. its a good thing they decided on experimenting with open-concept levels, because collecting those tapes was actually really fun. they hid them in such creative spots that if you actually manged to find one, you felt like a real bmf
