When I was a kid I was pretty freaked out by it too. It was the scariest thing the franchise had ever done at the time but that's what made it so good. It turned Scooby-Doo into a legitimate horror story.

What they have in their own respected universes/series are guidelines or standards that keep them within their own realms of existence. These rules don't necessary have to make sense but we like to think they do since it gives the shows a sense of order and believability in a universe that's just out of our reach.

I was actually part of the beta/test audience for the "Cyber Chase" tv series. It was back in like... 1997 or something, maybe 1998, and my first grade class got to see the original pilot episode, because PBS's station was downtown. We loved it, but then again, we were getting free cartoons in school, so maybe that influenced things a bit...

It's a bit too long ago for me to remember clearly, but I think the art style was less stylized, but I also remember something about it being more "interactive" in the sense that the characters would address us kids. Also, the colors were more traditionally animated, like, I recall it being that kinda grainy look that older cartoos have. I would LOVE if someone had a tape of the original test pilot, just to see if my bits of memory is what happened. :D

I honestly think you were too harsh. While it's not nearly as fantastic and scary as the Zombie Island movie, I still think it holds up rather well. I still remember a lot of fond memories it. Sure it's riddled with a few plotholes, but I definitely enjoyed seeing it back then, and I'll most definitely enjoy seeing it again someday.

I don't know what it was about it but the sort of paranormal electric monsters in old animation always scared me as a kid. Like the skeleton in the astronaut suit in scooby doo. OR OR OR ORRRRR that one episode of johhny quest if you remember johhny quest. The one where a bunch of people in some far off factory make a monster that feeds on electricity and it bassically takes over an island. it's also invisible. so they cover it in paint to see it. Also it's dangerous to be on the ground so they fly around in jetpacks. Johnny's stops working and it's the most harrowing shit ever like if you touch the ground you die you don't know when but death is coming for you. I would send you the scene but I can not find it.

Wouldn't Shaggy carrying around a magnet completely break the world itself? Why does it only work on the NPCs of the video game and not the environment? The whole thing is digital, everywhere they go should be glitched to hell because of the metal bar up Shaggy's butt. Also, why does the magnet even work in the digital world? If they were all turned into code and inserted into the game, does that mean that there exists a line of code that simulates the effects of magnets on computers? They actually programmed a literal game-breaking glitch in on purpose?

I never liked Scooby Doo as a kid either, especially the original shows from the 60's and 70's. The animation was stiff, the art was dark and bland, and all the jokes and references were way too dated and corny to find funny. On top of that, it was incredibly boring, considering EVERY episode would end the same: They talk to some people in the beginning, one is obviously the villain, that person is later un-masked in the end as a villain. Now pass the weed, Scoobs. However, I do remember this movie having a catchy as FUCK song playing during one of the montages, and it played for a second in the video in the scene where they were going to save that medieval princess (but failed to do so...probably too stoned on weed to care.) I swear, it was so impressive to me as a kid, I still find my self humming it, nearly a decade after last seeing the movie "Hum-dum-diggy-diggy-DAY-OR-NIGHT...SCARY MONSTERS! Hum-dum-diggy-diggy-QUITE-ALRIGHT!" Something like that.

Scooby doo is like TMNT or Transformers. It's the same show but the reboots make it slightly different each time. Mystery Incorporated was the most interesting reboot although my personal favorite is still the 13 ghosts of Scooby Doo.

Me when I'm watching Cyberchase: Yeah!! Whoo!! I love this show!! Also me, when I'm watching the season 6 finale of Cyberchase, and at the part where they're running from one of the creepers: Yeesh. They could be great at crossing over with Scooby Doo. If that ever happens. Also, also me, singing in my head: "It's terror time again!! They've got you running through the night!!! It's terror time again!!!! Oh, you just might die of fright!!!!! It's a terrifying time!!!!!!"

Hey, RebelTaxi. Quick question. Did you know that Scooby Doo and the Cybersquad are actually set in the same universe together? Here's my reasons to back up my theory. #1. In season 1, episode 3, Delete says, "Meddling kids" to Hacker when Hacker was speaking to Digit. #2. In season 1, episode 15, Matt says, "I say we split up. We can cover more ground that way". If you take this saying and compare it to the 2003 Scooby Doo: Legend of the Vampire film, Fred almost says the exact same thing. Here's what I mean. Fred: What words? Shaggy and Scooby: Let's split up!! Fred: But, we cover more ground that way. Yes, Cyberchase did come out 1 year before that Scooby Doo film did. But, if you remember, Scooby Doo wasn't even an idea until 1969. So, I'll call what Matt said a reference to Fred's lines whenever they split up. And finally #3. It's interesting to me how Digit isn't too keen on splitting up. Neither are Scooby and Shaggy for those matters. It's true. In the season 2 episode for Cyberchase, in one part, Digit completely says, "I can't believe I'm saying this, but let's split up". And yes, Shaggy and Scooby don't like splitting up either, but sometimes they just go along with it. So, that's pretty much my evidence to back up my theory. What do you think? Are the Cybersquad and Scooby Doo really in the same universe or is my theory just a figment of my imagination, but you still wouldn't mind a crossover movie between these two? Lemme know your thoughts down below.

I watch Scooby-Doo every once in a while for the nostalgia value (this movie included), but otherwise I they've milked this franchise for far more than it's worth. It wasn't that great to begin with, yet for whatever reason Warner Bros. refuses to quit making it. I will admit the Zombie Island movie and the Mystery Incorporated show are genuinely good, though, at least in my opinion.

i actualy like this movie, even though the villian was a bit too obvious, like almost rubbing your face in it so obvious that you think the twist is hes just being framed. so the twist for me was that he actually was the villian. as for mystery inc i might be alone on this but theres one thing from that show i absolutely hated, and that was velma/the forced relationship beteen velma and shaggy. she just seemed for too controlling and anoying to me as shaggys girlfriend

Somebody else probably brought it up, but the Mystery Inc. gang has fought real actual monsters countless times. I don't know why the movies still try and play it up as "THEY'RE REAL NOW" when that has literally happened at least 25 times to my memory, including once in a TV-show starring Vincent Price as a recurring character.

Fun Fact: In the french Dub of this movie, the past mystery inc characters doesn't have those robotic voices, they were voiced like normal characters, making it very confusing.

Serious question, why did the Science friend make a Scooby Doo game where you fight a dragon in the earlier level? What the fuc does that have to do with the mystery gang? There weren't guys in masks until like the last level. Wtf? They really couldn't even have the game itself make sense?

I don't know how much in touch with continuity this movie is, but as of its making, the Scooby Gang had run into an actual robot in the cartoon, and in the movies, real zombies and werecats, a real witch and warlock, and real extraterrestrials, in that order. Experience should have taught them that it usually is a man in mask, but sometimes, just sometimes, it really is a mud elemental or a bipedal crocodile. But, to be honest, given that it was a game based on their past experiences where it was a man in a mask 99.99% of the time, the monsters in the game (not including the virus) should have been nothing more than virtual men in virtual masks.
