Hi Rex I'm a panel beater always pull the body lines out first and If you have a low spot and a high spot next to each other weld the dent puller on the low spot hold pressure on it and hammer down lightly the the high spot at the same time, if you need to ask me any questions don't hesitate.

on the bigger dents that are stretched use a hammer on surrounding areas WHILE u have tension on the spot puller. id say the roof is the whole reason it ended up at the wreckers looks like it needs a roof skin. will have to source another sunroof 2nd hand cut. an maybe a rh qtr so u can cut a section out to fix that rust. rear window prob needs to come out also
@crackdbrain34 Жыл бұрын
Always do your body lines first , and access is key, don't be afraid to cut inner structure to gain access, then just weld inner structure back in when you have the dent out. Larger dents require shrinking after being pulled out, (plenty of vids on it im sure) you can home make a "slapper" by bending the handle of a metal file , also a brickies bolster from bunnings with the sharp face ground down is excellent for hard body lines/edges . Get some cheap dollies and a panel hammer 🔨
@RivalGamingRvlG Жыл бұрын
When using the dent puller start near the outside of the dent and work towards the middle, when you need to remove the tool twist it and pull lightly and it will release and will keep the panel somewhat clean.

I bought a portable car hoist off of eBay for $3000 total shipped to SA I had to pick it up on my trailer from wharehouse , but it’s the way to go you don’t need a massive car hoist and it really makes life a lot easier ; they are made in china but work very well I put mine on dollys as well to manouver car hoist around garage a lot easier

tbh if the roof is gone; a carbon cf roof panel might be a good piece to install, while pricy it will get rid of your sunroof and give you that uber rare omgwtf jdm status right off the bat.

pannel beating tip- for skybangers, you can reach up under side of the rear dent, same mostly for the dent at 12:23, quite note- skybangers typicly rust in the boot, down the sides, where the tools are kept, use a phone and have a look down there, there also should be a drain bung, make sure thats clean or clear or bunged off, also, remove the rear boot rubber lip (it can scoot over the boot with out dissasembly, normaly the steel in the rubber rusts to the body..big dumb, but just rip out the rusted steel its with side cutters, or use a medium(silicon). hmmm next place, remove front fenders, check all across there, and down under the water catching area (under window wipers). prone to rustys. took me 8months to restore a beatn ripped up r32...by ripped...i mean it was munted underneith...full cill ripped off car, chassie torn about 500mm from car...mmm have fun, just do what ever works, what doesnt work.. try to fix and allways rember, less bog means your getting better!

not sure if you didnt show it on the video but it didnt really look like you bled the master properly, that could cause your brakes to be spongy still. Generally you want to cover the ports with your fingers on the return stroke when bleeding so you dont suck air, and bleed until all ports are siphoning fluid out with gravity (: hope this helps

Great video there Rex. Also, the car Locklin reminds me of, is a 1974 LJ Holden Torana - The associated song for that car is sung by the band (The Kinks) Lola - I'm sure he would be impressed to hear that once you let him know - All the wonders of my Asperger's sense of humour. Evil Lol🤣👀👍. Cheers, mate - hopefully I should be getting my van back this week. Yes, unfortunately it has been taking a long time but in the long run it is going to be better and reliable very soon. In November I could be heading for a road trip heading for Melbourne. Via Geelong. Regards from William.

Rear quarters are 2k a peice . And thats also if you can find the gtst ones which is IMPOSSIBLE. 32 gtr quarters are still possible to find though but 4k for a set is a bit outrageous unless your car is nice not worth it.
