Rebuilding a rolled over Chevrolet Silverado the cheap way

It is time to start a new build. It is hard to find rust-free trucks near me so I drove to Arkansas to find one. I found the worst color combo available so it might look a little different when it is done. Let's see if we can get it running and get started on fixing it. Oh yeah, I want to fix it for less than $1000 in parts. I hope Scott's GM truck emporium will sponsor me!

This is amazing! This was my truck. I was the only owner, bought it brand new in 2002 and drove it until my 17 year old son rolled it! Are you gonna sell it? Or keep it?

My wife's '05 K1500, 5.3 LS Crew Cab, short bed 4WD is red too. She wanted a "small pickup truck" to carry her 3-wheel bike to places where she rides with her girlfriends. I just got it out of the paint shop for a redo of the roof and the tailgate -- $1800.00. Gack. I don't paint any more and sure was caught sucking wind at that price --- but it's for her and she's happy. Watch the oil pressure on these 5.3s since they have oil pressure failures! BT : DT! Following this one closer than usual.

i can't wait to see what you do with that truck. To me it's not even a good parts truck but it's one I would have liked to own myself so bring it on Scott. By the way the pizza girl is going to hurt herself lifting like she was. My back hurt just watching her. Have a good one.

head room: I was shopping for a car once with my gf and the sales man said "it's got plenty of head room" I pointed to my gf and said "i'll leave that up to her to decide" she gave me the stink eye WHACK.....lol and I wonder why I'm single? lololol On a similar note, I was looking to buy a new house in a development and the gf and I were looking over the development layout to pick a lot. Sales woman: Where were you thinking? corner lot? close to the main road? what? Me: Where is the model home? I want the lot right next door. Sales woman: here (pointing to the map) why do you want to be next door? Me: imagine the parties they'll have! Sales woman looks at me sideways. Me: you know, you read about their parties in all the society pages online, they can get pretty wild at times. Sales woman still doesn't get it. The gf looks at her "you know MODELS like FASHION models? they live in MODEL homes"? Great chick, she "got" me lol

I only live in Illinois because family is around here, otherwise I'd be in a snowless location. Have bought many cars from Arkansas and the south because "no rust". Rust sucks big time and why pay for it if you can drive a few miles south and not have to deal with it. Most of the cars I've bought in AR have had razorback decals on the rear window. Go Hogs! Always look forward to your rebuilding videos!

Enjoy your videos--great job! Had to laugh; back in the mid 70's started my first job, traveling all over the state of AR to rural communities. First thing I noticed was that everybody drove short bed pickups (this was before the days of crewcabs) instead of our long bed pickups we were accustomed to on the farm in MO. And a bunch of then in Eastern AR, in the rice area, were 4WD. Maybe it's the same today.
