I’d like to thank you. Your videos have been a bright spot in a really rough year for me. My husband of 45 years ( sweethearts for 3 years prior to marriage) passed away in January last year. Your work on the chateau gave me something to look forward to. You’ve made yourself a popular KZbin channel, living and home but you’ve also helped pull this old woman through a dark space. I look forward to future work and will be a fan forever. Thanks

That lift, called a 'materials lift' in the U.S., has been a godsend companion/tool for you to accomplish the herculean renovation you've done mostly by yourself over 300 days! I did a deep dive research on this chateau and Danny. I discovered something that truly amazed me. No, it’s not Coco Chanel’s indirect relationship to the chateau, but rather something much more culturally significant. One of the rescued Jewish children that found refuge in the chateau moved to the United States after the war. Once he arrived in the USA he changed his name … from Wulf Wolodi Grajonca to Bill Graham. Bill Graham went on to become the most famous promoter in rock and roll history. He was instrumental in the 1967 Haight Ashbury Summer of Love, promoting the Jefferson Airplane, the Grateful Dead and many more. His concerts at the Fillmore and the Wonderland Theatres are legendary, featuring all of the greatest bands in rock history. His mother died in Auschwitz. He escaped the Nazis … in Chateau du Chaumont. Rock on Danny, Nick, Cameron and Calvin. You’re part of rock and roll history.

This video is great for people who just started watching these videos with you. Although it does show some of the struggles you’ve had it does not show the blood, sweat and tears you have put into this building. It does not show the long days, long nights, bad weather and even beehives you’ve to deal with. When you show it like this I can’t believe you have come this far. Great job Dan. Before you know it you will be inviting Stephanie and Philip to a proper dinner party.

I thought I’d wait up for this one. It’s been a LONG week … But in the end I had to give up. Thanks for the recap ❤‼️ Any new viewers should really go back and watch all the fun bits around the actual building process, exposing the tiled bottom floor and clearing out full grown trees, moving in at site (in a tent to begin with), the dog puppies and the jurta, planting beginning of a park, etc. It’s all been great and a blessing every evening. Something to look forward to during this bleak year, so thanks❣️

Well Dan, from an old bakery to a chateau!!!! You said you wanted to make more interested video in your small studio you built and the boys loved coming in there and playing. Now to this it does not seem really but someone up there in the heights had a different path for you to take for sure. I remember the days you were putting up the beautiful chandelier someone brought you for your kitchen so generously. Now you will need a few more when the chateau gets to that stage. All three of you work so well together and produce a great video. But it only take One Mad Englishman to put a French abandon chateau back together again! Glad you took the risk and courage to do this, France will for sure give you a beret!!

A very moving vLog showing what perseverance and skill and good friends can achieve. I can’t help but think about those people who spent time there as children and what they would be thinking now to see that roof being sealed. I think Dan deserves some sort of academy award for best DIY Reno!😁👏👏

I thought you were crazy to turn the huge flower pot back into a chateau. Didn’t think it was possible. But look at you go. You are inspiring and making me feel that nothing is impossible. Much love ❤😊❤❤❤❤❤❤Canada

So happy for you now that one section of the Chateau has a roof. Can hardly wait to see the process all over again on the next section. Thank you so much for taking us along with you on this incredible journey. I love it.

Most enjoyable vlog. Must have taken ages to edit. Thank you. Fantastic filming despite you building at the sametime. Whoever did the drone work whilst you were working did a good job also. I am proud to be a Patreon in a small way. Take care.🍷🍷🇬🇧🇬🇧

Congratulations Dan! With the help of Nick, Cameron and Calvin of course. But mostly on your own. Talk about man and the chalenge. Your expertise in the fitting of the roof timbers is a masterclass. I recently saw Cirque Du Soleil in London and honestly you daily do things fearlessly that they would think twice about doing. I so enjoy your success in restoring this building and feel that the Russian Industrialist who built it in the first place is overseeing your efforts and maybe channeling that extra you need to achieve this restoration. Keen to see the next developments and know that the fitting of the roof on the other side will no doubt happen more quickly because you have found shortcuts to the process. I imagine that you will fit the second roof on the other side asap as you can build the floor to let you achieve this first rather than last?!? I have done a lot of building renovation in my life and cannot wait to see where you go with this. With the progress you have made in 300 days... maybe you will move in sooner than you think. Visualising it done!

A long hard 300 days but wow how much have you learnt in that short time, even how to abseil! The first shot of this video reminded me how magical the chateau is, and you taking your boys for a walk there what seems a long time ago. I’ve followed your videos, from the very beginning and never cease to be amazed by you and your wonderful team. Looking forward to more of your hard work bearing rewards. Xx

it was perhaps a godsend that the chimney wasnt there, made it so much easier to get up onto the roof and make it so accessible. Awesome work as always guys, all of you are master craftsman.
Staying on track to reach the top of the chateau, AGAIN.
