Watched it years ago and watched the full length version right now ! This series was so insightful. Have an 80 and 100 series myself! Love your videos and videos style! Do an 80 series build some time, that would be unreal! Cheers from Kenya!

Wow, I loved this. I'm totally new to this world. I'm in the process of purchasing a petrol 105 (manual) which on paper looks great, has been looked after and only done 150,000. I've spent the last 2 weeks just consuming content from KZbin about 105 Cruisers. I'd never considered a 4x4 as I always felt cost was a prohibiting factor, but this opportunity came up and all being well, at the weekend, I might be able to join the club. Thank you for your content (especially this one). I can see that I have a lot to learn. Also, hello from Perth, I'm south of the River :)

Soldering wires … Where the soldering material ends inside the cable is a potential breaking point as it is sensitive to vibrations. Meaning, if you solder for best electrical connection zip tie the soldered part to protect it from live vibrations.

I’m watching all 4 hours minus the 8 minutes. This episode clearly shows why I decided to buy a brand new Gen4 Jimny and not an old 76 “maintained” by my local bush mechanics.

Why shouldn't one buy modified 2nd hand vehicles? There are plenty of great vehicles out there, modified by people who know what they are doing, using only the best parts available. In fact, buying a vehicle which has already added a bull bar, upgraded the clutch or suspension or has added a DCDC charger or compressor or a winch for that sake, can save you plenty of money since the depreciation of these parts is significant.

Plenty of rooftop tents sell those shoe pockets to place outside the tent. Even Decathlon sells those pockets separate so you can add it to tour existent tent. I have a James Baroud and the best thing they have (besides quality) is the tunnel that can be used combined with their awnings. Guess it's not easy to get one there but they are great tents. And the ladder issue is not an issue for ages in Europe, almost every tent producer uses those ladders for years now. The stove/fridge setup is great, very clever system.

Checking rubber hoses - squeeze them with your fingertips. If you feel a U under your fingertips they are OK. But if you feel a V under your fingertips that is where your rubber hose will leak in a near future. This is especially easy to find at the outer bend of a hose.

I was living in Port Hedland west Australia in the 70s. I owned a SWB landy would go bush maybe 2 times in the month there was a mechanic that was a land rover wizard working at a place called Landys and if my landy went in for a work he was the man

It's going to end up a 1 million dollar Toyota . Paul is a genius though. Toyota service left a clip off the air filter on my hilux after a service and they stripped the thread on the oil sump plug on a friend's hilux so it's essential you check everything after a service is done

Binging it! A lot of fun to watch like all your videos! Thanks for the work you put in. You got me so far that I am considering to get a proper Toyota 4WD but here in Europe (especially Germany) it's just not rational...so I stick to my Westfalia Columbus :) One thing: is it possible to make a video about all your current and past projects? I am kinda lost which Toyota product you are transforming and on which continent :-D All the best from Germany ✌️

Just one thing I think I noticed was the mechanics hitting the wheel bearing race into the drums using a punch instead of a proper dolly/plate or similar - maybe need to educate them if am correct as you shorten the life of a bearing like that. Correct me if I saw wrong...

Antifreeze - I live in Central America. Car owners and their mechanics many times don’t use antifreeze because we live in a tropical climate. - Yes, as a consequence they have coolant related issues on their vehicles.
