So far this has been one of the most interesting builds that we ever purchased! We are learning so much about this 2020 Toyota Supra as we go and we are loving it. We did take a risk with this purchase but it turned out for the better. We finally got this thing started and now it is time to start ordering parts. We cant wait to see how this Supra turns out! The BMW magnet you found in the footwell is part of the Emergency SOS System speaker. Inside of both footwells is a tiny speaker that is connected to the SOS System (like OnStar) that needs to be connected. If it is not connected, the car will give you an SOS System Malfunction error. You can check oil level in the infotainment display in the settings in the Vehicle Info menu. And on the gauge cluster, to cycle the odometer menu, on the turn signal (left) stalk, there is a button that says BC. Press that button and it will cycle that menu until you can clear the errors and you can view the odometer again. The messages will come back though. Since your car was hit on the right side, you likely did not damage the oil cooler that lives on the left side of the front bumper. However, you will have to replace the entire vehicle radar assembly which lives in the right side of the front bumper. Having this disconnected is one of the Malfunction Errors you are seeing. Also, if you broke a lower control arm, then you also likely broke the control arm level sensor, which is a small plastic rod attached to the control arm. This level sensor is what tells your active suspension where in the suspension stroke it is, thus is a critical component, and also one of your drivetrain errors. Let me know if you guys have any questions or need help with part numbers, I have everything written down from my rebuild.

FYI whilst you have a drivetrain warning the onboard compouter limits the revs and number of cylinders running and puts the car in a limp home mode, that's why the throttle sounds weird. Also you check the oil level in the iDrive system and can do it with the engine turned off and ignition on. I've got an M240i so the exact same engine, drivetrain and system as the Supra.

8:14 - It's made in Graz/Austria (which is actually Arnold Schwarzeneggers hometown!) and it runs off the same production line as the BMW Z4. It's basically a coupe version of the BMW Z4.

I’m a bmw owner and I’ve always had them and worked on them since I was a kid. It’s kinda funny how much stress these modern BMW’s are going to give them due to BMW’s love for making things tricky to work on lol. A few tips for this since it is technically a bmw. NEVER jump start a bmw by the battery. You will probably screw up the ibs sensor and electronics in the car. All BMW’s have terminals in the engine bay, always jump start them there. 2. If you buy a new battery, you MUST program that battery to that car. Your local dealer or good tech can do this with ISTA dealer software. If you don’t do this, you may overcharge and wear the battery faster and then create battery drains too. Normal scanners don’t remove all trouble codes, sucks but sometimes you have to buy the latest scanners. Lastly, oil is checked in the Idrive, they don’t have dip sticks anymore. Good luck! You’ll need it! Just kidding... haha 😅

Hey guys, one or two things, maybe you wont reas that at all.. 1. its manufactured in Graz, Austria 2. The whole car was a consortium of BMW and Toyota. You will not find anything withput a BMW symbol 3. You can't get Supra parts in the Dealership, but you can order the BMW parts, its the same one.. 4. Never, please NEVER floor that cold B58 again. As you heard and feelt the control unit will not let you rev it, it wont give all the power. 5. Its kinda quiet, i know.. but dude, you guys need to delete those mufflers. It will sound amazing.

The car is in limp mode, the drive train malfunction indicates that otherwise it would rev up really fast like normal. And the engine is the b58 that comes in the 340i 440i or any BMW with 40i as a name. A very powerful and capable engine, was based on the n55, but perfected any flaws the n55 had so its the best one yet in my opinion. They are tricky out first, but once you start working on a BMW you realize they're pretty simple and they all work the same

PapadakisRacing's youtube page did a full teardown of a 2020 supera engine. There are vast differences between this engine and a off the shelf BMW engine. The adjusted the coolant channels through the block to mimic the 2JZ so that the engine could be tuned / bored and have redic power. They got theirs up over 1000hp with their build. Really sick to see the teardown. Boys, you should check out his vid on this its really interesting to see the engine all tore down!!

The 2020 Supra was designed by a partnership between Toyota and BMW. For the most part it is a BMW Z4 w Toyota badging and its unique body panels. This car has a mixed following as some love it but some are disappointed that Toyota did not redesign the Supra from the ground up themselves. Toyota is know for TRD, Toyota racing development and has a heritage of designing great sports coupes. With the great designs of the Lexus LFA, and Lexus RCF and also the Lexus LC, Toyota had everything themselves to do it themselves and do the new Supra well. I found u guys about 2 yrs ago and watched everything since. I don't leave comments often as I mostly watch KZbin on my flat screen.Keep doing ur thing.

A feature of the key is also to open and close the windows. Keep door close button pressed for 5sec and all the windows will close. Vice versa on open button, its very nice on hot summer days to let the hot air out. Many european cars have this function by the way. Good luck boys!

Toyota hasn't built their own sports/sporty cars since 2006. The Scion FRS/Toyota 86 were rebadged Subarus. It's a shame they didn't re-engineer the Lexus LC as a Supra, just like the previous Supra shared a platform with the GS300/400 coupe.

Plus very few of them have been wrecked. I imagine that with the plant closures too repair parts might be very difficult to get. Just a little tip. Dont try to bypass anything. If a wire or a fuse is burnt out, replace it. Even a speaker being disconnected can cause an SOS malfunction. Even something like not having the proper resistance on a circuit can cause major problems to arise, especially with sensors. Good luck guys. You better hope that engine harness is intact. :)

Just make sure u cover the main components like the distributer and alternator and make sure not to wash super close to the engine u want to keep a 2-3 foot distance and u should be fine. Dont wash the engine when its hot, can crack parts. Better to do on a warm engine or cold.

Just do it while the engine is hot, then shut the hood and let the heat of the engine dry it before you start. I’ve never had any problems doing it this way.

The oil level can be checked on the car display. Mercedes Benz and BMW have removed the dipstick from new cars. The same thing happened with this car because it is new and the BMW logos are everywhere. In fault mode, the engine lacks power because the fault program drops the power down, but the car can be driven to a workshop. Mercedes Benz use fault mode and i think BMW use it too. The Mercedes Benz oil level can be found in the service menu. In fault mode, the engine light usually illuminates on the car display, but this situation may be different because the car is crashed. The Mercedes Benz SOS and Service button is close to the interior light buttons and makes unnecessary calls too easy. The SOS button is on the back of the cover plate. A Bluetooth-connected cell phone makes a call. Battery Sensor Module: These systems require recalibration with a scan tool if the battery is replaced. If the system is not recalibrated, the alternator might overcharge the new battery and cause the battery to fail soon after replacement.

With BMW engines you need to go in to the iDrive settings and do an oil level test whilst the engine is on and on level ground. The B58TU1 takes exactly 6.5l (6.86 Quart) of oil (BMW LL-01/LL-04 grade only). Another thing with the battery, it may just be a little low so put a trickle charger on it for 24hrs and it should be golden. With the exhaust you may as well go with an electronic valve and get a decent downpipe (Wagner or Evolution Racewerks catted...don't get decat).
