The z and g have very heavy steering. Feels even heavier with a racing wheel. If you guys have abs still hooked up I recommend pulling the abs fuse . Also bypass your lsd diff if you have one due to the traction control not fully disabling when you push the button.

@rubenm19276 жыл бұрын
I'm a little late commenting on this one, however, there is an "air relief plug" you remove on a coolant hose on the right side of engine, near the battery, that allows you to bleed air out the coolant system a whole lot easier. Check FSM section CO page 9.
@dancarlos12166 жыл бұрын
There is also a coolant bleed screw you can remove near the battery area. Just pop it back in once coolant spits out.
@martinlanza12366 жыл бұрын
The water pipe on the passenger side of the engine bay has a vertical stork with a Philips screw - that's the water bleed valve - makes it easy to burp the engine when refilling the coolant

the 350z i drove frequently back in 2010 and occasionally years after that till my close friend parked his bc it needed work, but it always felt like heavy steering but very precise, it was a drivers car if you wanted a exhilarating daily
@chickenfishhybrid446 жыл бұрын
If you like your power steering pump you generally turn the car off when the reservoir gets sucks dry.. lol Little tip, best way to bleed is have it jacked like you do and slowly turn the wheels side to side and stop before each lock and top up as you go. Once you start it and it aerated/sucks the reservoir dry it can be a pain to bleed and generally isn't good for a pump. Some cars can be a real bastard like Ford's lol

We use a vacuum assisted coolant filler at work. Works every time even on cars like Porsche with their front radiator/ rear engine setup.
@mas9216 жыл бұрын
CASTER IS HIGH! this is why the steering is so HEAVY! stock caster is 8deg and this is 9.2! This is very good for "spring to center" in drifting but this will add tons of full lock camber gain! The 350z has remarkably low SAI/kingpin of 5deg, so extra caster and that crazy 3+degvcsmber is totally not needed. This is a norm for the s chassis drifters but not the double wishbones 350z

The highlight was the in-car cam while doing the donut at the end... I think you'll need to find a skid-pad somewhere (even a wet parking lot...) to have a little practice on wheel-hand speed. Looking forward to it.

Raise the height a bit if you don't have any adjustable parts yet. If you want the steering to free up a bit the inner transverse link bushing to an spl one helped me. Same with the radius/compression arm. Don't use any poly bushings, they're awful, you'll get binding. I went from poly to spherical on 90% now but of course its a fair bit harsher.

Man, you guys need to upgrade your cheap, shitty vacuum filling system with the proper tool from airlift. I can fill and bleed any cooling system in any car I'm likely to encounter in under 5 minutes. No waiting for thermostats. No idling for an hour wasting fuel and money. No finding out 15 minutes into a test drive you didn't get it all. No mess. No nonsense.

Honestly like ppl gave me shit for busting ur guys balls on doing an interior swap on a drift car. But you guys went in to get an alignment without doing control arms first???? Like thats great you guys have a nice interior to drive your car on the street with such a bad alignment that not only is handling fucked but its not going to be the best it can be as a drift car. I probably sound more salty than I am but this is a really goofy sloppy build guys, like sure the spirit of drifting is to do whatever makes you happy but I know you guys can build some solid cars. So many strange choices on this build its like its your first time DP.
