I've seen pips on worn and new ball ends. I machine the pip off to create a ring contact in the cup and stops clicking from the cup clicking sideways. You can hear the difference!

Another great video showing your attention to detail. I don't know if it's applicable to the more modern rocker adjusting ball ended screws but in my time with BMC with a full race cam we had to use longer competition screws (C-AEA 692) or machine 0•050" off of the pedestals. As you don't mention this I'm assuming that these longer tappet adjusting screws became a standard fitment. I thought that this was worth mentioning incase you, or anyone else, ever came across an early Cooper S, eg a 1071 or 970 or an original 1275s. I also have something to say about the tappets but I'll leave this 'till later when I see the next video. I'm looking forward to it.
