I’ve got the same truck. Just put an expansion valve on mine and had the same problem. The nuts on the evaporator side broke loose easy but the high side line on the other side the nut froze to the line. Ended up twisting the line and has to replace it.

It’s best to flush out hoses, evaporator, and condenser to remove old oil and unknown contaminants. It doesn’t take much to clog your expansion valve. You don’t want to be on Arizona and your ac goes out because you didn’t flush it. I made that mistake last year- change out compressor, drier, and expansion valve- it clogged up a week later.

That's your Evaporator with the lines going into your Expansion Valve, the Condenser is in front the Radiator. At least you won't have to tear the dash apart from the inside to remove it. Will you have someone else evacuate (remove the air) & recharge it?
@MakeCentsTrucking4 жыл бұрын
Yeah my buddy from college just called me to inform me i had it wrong and do not order a condenser or else i'll be disappointed. I was pretty sure the evap was out front to evaporate lol

Do yourself a favor , look at the tags on high pressure and low pressure solenoid. Kenworth had the low and high plugs reversed from the factory. Which will burn up the compressor. Had all 15 of my t800 from 2013 to 2018 were all backwards.

Sammy.!!!? Where's Capt. Getin it done when you need him??. I made a living doing HVAC work. I've done Auto. A/C to. Is your system 134A.?? Yea if alot of big trucks don't have cabin filters like 4 wheelers, then after while evaporator coil will get stopped up with dirt, and no cooling but you will be slugging the compressor with liquid refrigerant. Not good. Expansion valves don't usually go bad iny experience. But alot of work. Receiver dryer good idea to replace. You own your own vacuum pump ? And or Recovery unit. I bought all that stuff Alot of the lines are aluminum too with flare nuts. Rig up a cabin air filter if possible. Saves evaporator coil and compressor. Too hot brother. Good luck

@@MakeCentsTrucking I seen your trailer Saturday when I was rolling up out of Atlanta heading home. I figured you had the truck doing something with it. Hopefully when you get back out here we can get on the same trail and roll wheels together. I'm picking up Monday morning in Lenoir City TN heading up to Wyoming, MI for Tuesday morning. $1850 for 625 miles and they called me off the DAT board for the load. I'm liking the "post your truck" option on DAT. I've got to replace my cab leveling valve and cab shocks soon myself. Found my leveling valve to be a little messed up when I was replacing my air dryer last Monday.

Hey man don't know if u still keep track of this. I have a 2008 t660. My bunk ac will not turn on. I changed out the relays under the driver's side dash. When I hit the switch to turn in on from the button on the controls I hear the relay click. I am trying to see if it could be anything but replacing the bunk blower under the bed.
