Berm Peak

Күн бұрын

You all called it. The ramps were a waste of space, and honestly I never really intended on leaving them permanently. We have plenty of dangerous stuff on Berm Peak.
So today we re-use the ramp wood to build an even bigger shop! Next to the bay door there's enough airflow to do woodworking, making it the perfect spot for all the saws and sanders. Enjoy

If you end up doing a lot of woodworking, consider a vortex dust separator you can add on in front of your shop vac. It allows the big chunks to collect in a bigger container that is easier to empty and saves a lot of wear and tear on the shop vac. I have the dust right one that is pretty legit.

Just a tip. It's a good idea to have the tablesaw slightly above the outfeed table to eliminate the chance of any wood catching the outfeed table while you're in the middle of a cut. If you put a washer or two under the tablesaw it should be enough.

Looks great!! Love the shop!! Also you might want to shim the table saw up like 1/16th or 1/8th. This way the table saw is a little higher then your out feed table. That little step down ensures whatever your cutting won’t get hung up on the transition between the table saw and work bench.

This is a nice improvement, and much more useful than the ramps. This video is reminding me how nice the *bike* side of your shop space is too -- I love all your content, and we've seen a bit of woodworking projects lately, but I'd actually like to see more videos shot in the bike shop. Sometimes it seems we only see your garage when you are making improvements to it, but I'd like to see you using it to work on and tinker with your bikes, just to mix it up a bit. Keep up the great work!

I reclon I can see how your thinking has evolved over time re the garage Seth.... Originally an embarrassment of square-yardage, it just had to be utilised somehow to do justice to the dream... So... carpark/ workshop/ Bike Cave /Playzone/StuntPark/SBH-Hub and all the rest ....has morphed naturally over time to become a kind of Seth-Central, just right for today's projects, while still remembering happy yesterdays, but now with a keen eye on where tomorrow's world might lead. Nice one Seth, this step kinda feels right as well as looks good....So I'll voice the thoughts of maybe another million or so of your subscribers when I say.... One more idea you can build drawers under each stair even if it's just the length of the stair tread might not be a bad spot for spare parts like a fork and other long items. Just drill a hole to use as the drawer pull instead of having something sticking out. Keep the videos coming, keeps me wishing my trail wasn't in a flood plane making it flat and wet

This is too much room... said no one ever! I am so jealous of your space. I too love MTB and Woodworking but crammed into a small space and every nook and cranny used. I think those steps could also be used to clamp stuff at different heights but still feels takes space. Maybe you shift to a host system for the bikes and jiat hoist them up to the space above. Also for the sander, make sure to clean the garage rail and bearings etc as over time all that saw dust we will cluster up on that grease. This was a fun video!

Hey Seth I work in a professional wood shop and a little advice. You might wanna start saving for a full stand alone cabinet table saw because you’re probably gonna outgrow the capabilities of that little one soon. Also might want to look into a stand alone dust collection system to cut down on all the dust in your shop.
