In this weeks episode i attempt to dismantle my B18C Integra Type R engine, remove more parts from the car and finally begin the daunting task of rust repairs. A lot to unpack in one video so enjoy!

Nice detail and explanations. The car found its rightful owner. Subbed. 👍 My daily's a 98 spec, also in Ireland. When I first got it from Japan _many_ years ago 🙂 being paranoid about rust in the first week I flooded everywhere I could with waxoyl, later on I used bilt hamber(much easier to use)when I do my yearly check in summer. At the time my mate's thought I was mad given I didn't intend to hand onto it, but here we are and it worked so far. 🤞 The front on yours surprised me. They're a total bugger for rotting in the sills and lower rear. From factory there's a gap left open where the front of the rear wheelarch meets to top of the back of the sill if you know what I mean. Water gets forced in there and rot starts from the inside out. Funny enough the non R DC2's I've seen don't have this gap.

Fair play for the quality work mate, just got done with my mb6 vtis, looking forward to seeing how yours turns out. Very jealous of the work space though, beats a double garage and axel stands 😂

I'm B18C swapping my EG4 Civic hatch at the moment. Viewing your rebuild of the engine will really help me a few years down the road when I do the same. Caught this channel on a Facebook ad. Great work so far, lad. Salute from Wexford 🇮🇪💯

Excellent video mate. Don't knock yourself. Regarding the block, these B series tend to suffer from the lower bores being oval after hard miles. This makes them smoke on VTEC. It might be worth you going one size up on the pistons and having a fresh rebore and hone to Honda specs. Be careful with the clearances too, make sure they're to Honda specs otherwise you'll have an oil burner if they're too big. I'd also put a new oil pump in there as a matter of course. Honda bearings are thee best to use. Stick with them for proper clearance and reliability. Oh and I did the same as you. Complete strip and rebuild on my DC2-R. Also did a turbo build on a previous type R engine.

Appreciate your advice and comment mate! Dropping the block to a machine shop for a full inspection shortly and also mine poured smoke under hard revs which was the deciding factor for the complete tear down. Will be using as a lot of new parts including the oil pump. Nice to hear that somebody else saved DC2 R 👌🏼

@@msfperformanceirl yeah no worries. It was the rear arches that were going on mine. Cost 5K in metalwork/paint to sort that (I paid someone). Engine, yes, I don't think you can get genuine Honda P73 pistons anymore so not sure on your options. I wish Honda would start making parts for these DC2-Rs again as there's a lot of people restoring them now

I'll play my DC2 is rustier than your DC2 😂. I've got some vids on of what must be the worst in the world. Enjoyed watching someone going through the same pain as I am 😅 keep up the work 👍🏻

pls bro do not use the same piston once you takeit off, buy some new ones, y do a refresh work on a b20b and i use the same pistons, and they crack doind the firsts road
