we can thank the folks at Ubisoft for their work on helping the restoration of the Cathedral. they took highly detailed scans of the building when making Assassins creed Unity.
@firefly31964 жыл бұрын
Nah. I compared Notre Dame in Unity with a lot of pictures and at least in the Game there are some major differences between the original and the remade one in the game. Maybe they knew better but changed some elements for better playability in the game, but what I noticed is, that Notre Dame in the Game is not as 1:1 as you may think it is. There are laser scans of Notre Dame and I think that they are far more important for the rebuilding.

Please explain the specific details about how the electrical short occurred. Which equipment? For what purpose? Which contractor? Who was the supervisor? Who was working on the site? What are their statements?

Bless you wonderful people! Hmmm. come to think of it, Victor Hugo could also be thanked for saving the cathedral ... again. When he wrote his famous book, the cathedral was in a bad state of disrepair. his novel was so hugely popular that it spread awareness and people decided to take action and restore it. Nowadays, one of the main reasons why ND of Paris is so loved worldwide is still the tragic story of the Hunchback. well.... at least it was my main reason for visiting France- twice.

@@ksoundkaiju9256 Not sure sprinklers are suitable as water can do even worse damage to some art structure. They will pick what's best for the building with much respect to the ones that build it first and to the history of the place.

I still remember watching live streams of the fire, and seeing that spire fall onto and through the roof. I hope someday soon they restore the cathedral as best they can. It wont ever be the same, but hopefully it will be close.

This building gets billions in donations yet there's people starving in the world that would never get that many donations.

People spend billions on cellphones, cafes, jewerly, parties, etc. Also, people are free to donate their money to whatever cause they seem fit.

The fire really didn't do a lot, besides the spire causing a small section of the vault ceiling to collapse and the destroyed roof, the structure is practically fine.

Granted if it can be restored, it should. Just think of what all that money can do to help those who are hungry and homeless.
@rebeccahancock74064 жыл бұрын
This more than a church, it is part of the city and its people soul. Paris does not have a homeless and hungry problem. Unlike The States, other countries put people before money.
@codymoe49864 жыл бұрын
If they were putting people before money, they wouldn't be spending millions restoring a building....

Yeah, I think people just got tired of complaining eventually, realising it was going to be worth it in the end either way. Plus, more important things came along to complain about as we all know. Those kind of people are eventually forgotten by history either way thankfully.
