Something I’ve always wondered. The sixers right before the Bynuam trade which led to the rebuild. You have a young Jrue Holliday , young Lou Williams, Thad Young was a decent player Evan Turner in his second year I believe. But here’s the wild card. They had Nikola Vucevic and they just drafted Mo Harkless as a bench player. I’m not sure what the cap looked like but they have some decent players. They lost the year prior to Boston in round two after Rando had his magical playoff run and hit 2 three pointers in the final seconds. But if you add Vuvecic who was a top center for a decade it would have been interesting

at 2:40 in the video the lakers were actually solid team till christmas day when lebron james went down with a groin injury basically ending any chance they had to be in the playoffs race. They were a top 4 seed at that time and so him saying they weren’t very good and it was a bad szn was inaccurate. It was ridicule by injuries

A Sabonis Allen front court is NUTS lol. It’s unfortunate Jaylen Brown (should’ve been) RFA or he would’ve been a great SF option. Even BI. AD would’ve been incredible bc he had an A- 3P. A- seems pretty ambitious when you consider he was like 33%…but he was p new to taking more than a cpl, first time taking 3+, and he’s coming off shooting 38.3% on 2.9att in the bubble. So it was looking like he could be solid from 3. Def didn’t expect him to shoot 38%+ like in the bubble, but enough to space the floor. Seems like after 20-21 he lost confidence in his 3P’er tho. He started the season shooting it well, then started getting hurt, all went downhill from there. Unfortunate bc he’s a beast in the paint & on DEF, if he could even hit like 35% on 3-4att it’d make a big diff.

Ya it was a double S&T, DLo was coming off an ASG appearance and was obviously a top pick in the past. He was def overrated at the time, and he clearly didn’t fit with GSW, but it was a smart move bc they were able to maintain most of the KD salary slot they were losing. GSW said they didn’t plan to trade him (obviously they said that lol) but they clearly did. Ppl thought GSW was kinda crazy for paying DLo the 4y rookie max especially bc he didn’t fit w Steph/Klay, but DLo had a couple friends in the league that were young big names that wanted to play w him. KAT was obv one, I think him and Book had a connection, maybe forgetting one or two others. But it worked out, prolly better than they could’ve ever hoped. GSW was obv willing to spend…and they would’ve been thrilled to get someone who turned in to a good 3&D F like Wiggins from DLo, let alone P7 too. Rly smart.

Next season Nets team will be better than 2019 team. Nets have much better defenders on current team. All Nets have to do is play more man movement offense, instead of relying on the passive perimeter passing style just to jack up 40 3s. Nic Claxton will be an improve midrange and 3pt shooter as well as more involved ball handler and passer. Bridges and Johnson will get better, and Cam Thomas will be a better passer.

Ya the Sabonis signing was just never gonna be a fit with JA. Idk why JB/BI were UFA, should’ve been RFA, but either of them would’ve worked. He did try for AD which would’ve been awesome bc he had an A- 3P, so he’d space the floor. That would’ve been awesome. Sabonis and JA just not good together. Then could’ve done Cade DLo Ant w Ant at the 3, and got a big F that could shoot and defend for PF. Feel like he was just signing soooo many bigs lol

Especially that last year when he got MPJr, like you got DLo Cade Ant Hunter MPJr with JA and TimeLord. Monk too. Just had to package Sabonis and whatever picks needed…and you have so many options. Can trade him for depth pieces, one really good guy, w/e. DLo Ant MPJr Hunter Cade all with A- or better PER D, all of them rly good shooters, even MPJr and Hunter have better INS D than Sabonis. Monk flamethrower and B+ PER D. You could run DLo Cade Ant 1-3, MPJr at 4, JA 5, Monk Hunter TimeLord off the bench. Then trade Sabonis & picks for a big 3&D guy. Run Monk Hunter TimeLord and that F off the bench, whatever. You have so many guys who can handle the ball you don’t need a true PG off the bench, plus Monk has A- playmaking anyway. Just sooooo much lineup versatility with all of those guys, just needed one more 3&D SF/PF to replace Sabonis and you’re Gucci. That Sabonis signing kinda doomed him from the start. It’s 2K so you can get away with more stuff, but it’s such a nasty fit. MPJr was a big add tho, and not sure if Mikal played but he would’ve worked well for sure. Don’t think it’s a coincidence the team went crazy once he brought in more size that could shoot.
