What do you mean the 3.6 VR6 bolts up to a 915? Via adapter plate, or is it somehow the same bolt pattern?

I wish I had a 964 turbo motor to donate. You’re right that should be the motor. Seems like the build is going 10/10ths otherwise, would be a shame for the motor to not be perfect. That being said, getting this twin targa on the road again is such an automotive good deed, anything that helps that happen will be awesome. What parts are left over from the 959 “Evos” that Canepa does? There’s got to be amazing parts all over that place that hopefully belong to wealthy car lovers who’d like to hook a brother up?!?

I love the idea of an old porsche with modern drivetrain and electronics. If you could get Haltec or Holly to sponsor the build, the tuning of this raceingmachine (maybe with different modes for track+race+everyday driving) would be easy and on point.🤩

I love this series. It's great you have the resources and time to do this correctly. You're in a great position to install a larger or additional fuel tanks for the Cannonball. I live in Redondo Beach near the Portofino Hotel so this project really intrigues me.

Just wanted to say.... If you dont mind very wild body work then you can actually put dual radiators in the rear fenders. Then plumbing way easier. Just imagine taller and longer fenders with a naka duct like opening on the top of the fender feeding to gills on the back side. Between you mount long skinny radiators at a 30°ish angle providing lots of surface area to cool whatever you drop in it.

Id definitely also put an LS in it. If you ever break down on a run you know the parts are at every parts store but it would be vool to have a Porshe motor also

Hey why not put in the engine if something like a 928 or 968? If I remember correctly they are not too expensive, can make a ton of power, still authentic porsche and they sound absolutely lovely while being reliable. The 928 and 968 were made for the autobahn so if you want a reliable engine that can make all the torque and horsepower you want while being authentic porsche I recommend looking into those. If you can get your hands on the 5.4L M28 go for it. It makes 345hp stock in the US and Canada. The engine itself is detuned from the factory and can easily be improved with minimal work. I've heard of people pushing over 700whp on those engines while still being reliable.

What...2904? Kick ass! You *have* to Cannonball this car. It's been ordained. Love the direction that this build has taken with Dave Stoltz. Good luck sourcing a motor. I like the idea of the twin turbo Cayenne. Should provide adequate propulsion.

It's total blasphemy, but I think an Audi/VW diesel with a manual transmission would be a great. I don't know if you can do manual in a rear-engine limo though. Great stuff, and I love the Ficarra episodes!
