DET around 2008, like right before they moved Chauncey for AI which was the move that really started the downfall. Then BKN right when KD and Kyrie got there. They had crazy depth with Allen, LeVert, young super young Claxton, Dinwiddie, Bruce brown, Harris, Prince, then they would’ve had all their own picks and a ton of movable salaries. One is a full tear down (DET) and one would be more fun building an incredible team, so I’d love to see both at some point. I’ve never seen anyone do DET in that era, only Darko ones. Keep it up, ✌️

Matt I love your content. I do think if you played players at their true position and back up position. You would win a little more. Since you aren’t coaching game by game. Having the minutes more stable by changing the players two positions. To which you would like the coach to play them. Helps the sim coach better. I know it is 2k but i do think it matters

OG/AG/KP is an amazing 3-5. Ton of size, rebounding, enough shooting and rim protection, etc. You could play AG as the backup 5 a decent amount and stagger AG/KP. That way you could get more shooting on the floor when needed. I’d love that 3-5 w Trae at 1, prolly a diff 2 tho. Ideally a secondary ball handler who can shoot 3s at good volume and is a solid defender, doesn’t need to be elite with that 3-5. Maybe Jrue actually would be pretty nasty, Mikal Bridges would be dope, prime Klay obviously lol. Actually just thought of an amazing one, prime Lonzo. When he got to Chicago and was a defensive menace while being a 40% C&S guy. Trae/Zo/OG/AG/KP Ayo/KCP/Trey Murphy/Batum from a few years ago. That’d be a fun team, there’d always be crazy size but could go “small” with a ton of diff lineups. Sorry I can’t sleep 😂

Kyrie Ant KD Jarrett Allen is pretty nasty, I’d actually love to see a rebuild of BKN with Kyrie and KD, but obv don’t trade for Harden. They had Allen, LeVert, Claxton, Bruce Brown, Joe Harris when he was flames from 3 and healthy, Dinwiddie, Prince, etc. plus they would’ve had a lot of movable salaries, and all their own picks. Jeff Green was really good for them that one year too. They would’ve had crazy depth. Kyrie, Dinwiddie, Bruce, LeVert, Harris, Prince, KD, Green, J Allen, Claxton, I forget when they drafted Cam Thomas, then they had DeAndre on that bum salary that they could’ve used in a trade. But just having Kyrie, KD, Allen, LeVert, a ton of good cheap role players, a rly young Claxton, all their own picks, and a million salaries that were medium sized it was pretty perfect. They really just needed to make a couple smaller moves and it would’ve been a wild team. LeVert had rly good trade value at that time, Dinwiddie still had solid value, etc. It’d be fun to see that, a little bit of an easier rebuild to switch it up. I’d def enjoy that. Also DET historic rebuild, they were really good for a long time from like the mid 80s to mid 2000s, never were bad for more than a cpl years max during that run. I think 08-09 was when they made that horrific Chauncey for AI trade. It’d be great to see you stop them from ruining the franchise lol. Instead of the AI trade, they could’ve moved him for young guys/picks, moved Tayshaun for picks, etc. They had a cpl decent young guys too like Afflalo and a cpl others they randomly just gave away. So if you can find a roster between like 06-09 or w/e that’d be perfect. If they would’ve pivoted to a rebuild then instead of chasing mediocrity they could’ve had a great head start, Chauncey was still an all star. Tayshaun was still really good, Rip/Sheed were falling off but they would’ve had a clean cap sheet. So either of those. BKN right as KD/Kyrie got there, or DET in like 08-09 when they started to fall apart, ideally right before they did the Chauncey AI trade. Thanks and keep it up.

When U think about it this hawks team shows what's wrong with 2k. How they need to stop every player progressing so much. Cause in 2ks eyes this team should've been a dynasty. But everyone stagnated. Huerter. Stopped getting better. Trae. Stopped getting better. Hunter. Stopped getting better. Collins. Stopped getting better. Okongwu. Stopped getting better. Reddish is another one. Wish 2k implemented more of this in the future cause it's so unrealistic to have everyone progressing so much.

Ya it’s still too OP. They have done it a bit better with the boom or bust thing, and peak age and all that. It used to just be literally everyone progressing, now some guys don’t, even some very high picks. But they need to lean more in to it. The 15th pick shouldn’t progress to like an 88 overall 80%+ of the time or whatever. But that’s asking a lot of such a poorly developed game if we are being honest. Didn’t buy it this year, don’t plan to next year either. Sad bc it used to be good. Hoping another game comes around and gives them competition, that’s why the games were good back then bc there were options. Now they have a monopoly, they don’t need to do much.

Still nuts that Luka not only didn’t go 1, but fell multiple spots then even a team traded out of that pick. I’ll never get it. He was literally the best European prospect ever, playing in the highest level league outside of the NBA, winning MVP, championships, finals MVPs, all as a teenager. Sure he wasn’t athletic, but that matters infinitely less when you’re a 6’7+ point guard with insane court vision. He showed he could shoot too, he was taking super difficult 3s…step backs behind the NBA line, deep pull-ups, etc. and shot pretty well. Just wild stuff, especially bc PHX HC coached Luka and was telling them how good he was etc. 😂. I mean I can at least understand Ayton I guess, he was pretty dominant in college, had all the tools, and he played in PHX’s backyard. Not excusing it but I can at least semi understand it. Taking Bagley? Like what? Then ATL, it’s not like they got some massive haul to move down. It was one pick and yea it was likely going to be good, but I’m pretty sure it was protected so it wouldn’t be T3 or T4 I forget how protected it was. DAL was likely gonna be a team that wasn’t bad enough to be one of the worst few teams, but not good enough to make the playoffs. I think it ended up being P10 which was right around what ppl expected. So to take P10 and drop two spots, they obviously thought Trae was better than Luka. I wonder if they would’ve thought that if curry wasn’t balling out? Bc that’s basically what they were hoping Trae was.

Dude omg it’s almost like it’s a video game. There are a ton of flat contracts out there, front loaded, contracts that jump all over the place, etc. Off the top of my head: Jarrett Allen signed 5/100 deal, 20 every year. Brandon Clarke signed for 4 or 5y I forget but it was 12.5 per. Brogdon. Poeltl. Then if you want some front loaded ones you’ve got Keldon, Bogdan, THJr, PJ I think, MitchRob. Oh one more flat loaded bc I’m a DET fan, beef stew lol. Just a weird thing to complain about tho man. Not everything is gonna be super realistic, the game is still the game. It’s not even as OP as this was, but remember when Cs used to go up like 5 overalls at PF? Bunch of diff position changes could gain players 3-5 overalls. Ppl did it, nobody cared. Flat loading some contracts is significantly less unrealistic than that. Is there something that’d change if he didn’t flat load? Don’t think the few mill diff in a cpl deals would’ve made him capped out or something lol.

@@BOnYTB First off he says every video is realistic. Second those are all role players. They're not all stars. Allen was an injury exemption. Thirdly there's one per team. Not 5 per team like he does. Fourth. If he flattens four contracts that each save him 3 million that's 12 million extra in cap. The difference between signing a role player and signing a star player. Fifth you're a pistons fan. That's hilarious 😂
