Everything looked good. Piston was in very good shape. Running a little rich, but looks to have gotten regular oil changes.

At 26:54 there appears to be some discoloration from excessive heating on the crank shaft where it connects to the piston connecting rod. Is this the case and has it ever been an issue? Awesome video btw, I was almost tempted to have to go give my DR a rip just from watching this... Too bad it's too cold today where I live 😂 subbed
@docteurmoteur3 ай бұрын
Not an issue for the bluing; most likely heat dating back to factory assembly. I'm uploading part 4 the assembly next week if i can get to it. I'll have all the part ref linked as well. Thanks for the sub!

Just became your 100th subscriber haha amazing work. What was wrong with the engine by the way? Or were you going to do a big bore kit and decided to make a whole tear down and rebuild series while you're at it?
@docteurmoteur6 ай бұрын
Lucky 100, Thanks for watching! I’m dropping in a nova transmission and maybe a high compression piston. The big bore kit is next on my list but not for this four part video series.

just as i was thinking of getting long throw gears, looked for a good video like this a while back and didnt have anything ! i know it would be a lot of work but if you could put the torque specs when putting it back together that would be so so useful ! also if you had links to the tool sused like an amazon afli link in the desciptio i would definetly use it and so would others !
@docteurmoteur2 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment, i'll make sure to link torque specs, tools and part refs. I'll look into affiliation links for the next engine! The assembly video is out next week.

When you removed the oil screen I saw lots of chunks in there, were any of the transmission gear circlips broken or was that all gear tooth facing that had flaked off?
@docteurmoteur3 ай бұрын
The transmission was OK. I'm not sure where they came from, the crank had some pitting.
