I have legit no idea what you guys are doing. I’ve always thought highly of Masai etc. but I genuinely have 0 idea lol. If they traded like only FVV and kept e1 else mostly, I would’ve been like hmm weird but ok. I didn’t expect OG or Siakam to get moved. I kinda get the Poeltl trade, but they gave up a VERY good 1st for him…and two 2nds. A ‘24 1st that’s T6 protected for numerous years is kinda crazy for a guy on an expiring who you know you’re gonna have to pay* a lot to keep. You’re also kinda straddling two timelines here with Siakam being older, FVV isn’t young, Boucher is like 30 and got 3/35…but then you have Barnes, Achiuwa, GTJr is 24 but has a player option and wants a lot surely. OG has one more season before he has a PO. Poeltl is gonna want 15M+ y1 for his age 27-30 seasons or w/e. And this team clearly isn’t close to contention. It wasn’t a Poeltl away, it wasn’t a Poeltl away from even a second round kinda team and that’s not results oriented. Anyone could see that. They had the option of moving FVV likely to LAC for like their ‘28 1st or something in that area, seeing what the market was for GTJr, and not trading for Poeltl. If they did that they’d have at least one extra FRP (plus the one they sent for Poeltl) and they could’ve tanked down in to the 8th best pick odds range or so surely. I just don’t understand the direction at this point. Now they have the 13th pick…FVV and GTJr have player options they’ll surely decline. Even if they dump Thad and Otto, Poeltl’s salary eats that up. Plus the pick. Then if you keep FVV and GTJr it’d be very hard to stay out of the tax. I don’t get being a tax team for this team, or close. Why not move on from FVV (possibly GTJr too if the market was there) at the deadline, get a better 1st round pick, and move on with a top 10 pick, Barnes, Siakam, OG, and a couple extra 1sts for GTJr and FVV? I guess we’ll see how it goes down. He’s never done anything I’ve found to be very bad, so I don’t see why that’d start now. He’s way better than me lol. Just curious. *He turned down 4/58 before the season and that was a standing offer throughout the season. MitchRob got 4/65, Nurkic 4/70. $15M year 1 w 8% raises is 4/67.2, that’s about what I’m thinking for him.

That’d be cool. I’d like to see DeMar get a chip. He kinda chose the bag going to CHI, but I don’t blame him. It wasn’t like yo take this 3/65 with a player option to come play with a real contender, or take 3/82 no PO w CHI. It was like yo take this 1yr $10M lmao. Plus CHI was supposed to be good. PG has just been in weird situations. Either his own injuries or his teammates, or IND not building around him rly and paying him. LAL maybe could’ve gotten DeMar in 2020 going in to 20-21 he was on his $27.8M player option or w/e. Obviously if ur taking ur PO u don’t have much value and/or ur vastly overpaid. I think ppl just thought he was slightly overpaid and SAS likely didn’t want to extend him for another 3-4yrs or w/e. It was kinda clear they were maybe gonna trend young…though that’s why it was so odd they traded Kawhi for DeMar and the pick that became Poeltl. LAL traded Danny Green & a 1st for Schroder that off season. That’s when Schroder was making like $17M or so too. Maybe they could’ve done Danny Green & their 1st that draft…plus THT (I think that was the year ppl valued him for some reason) and some kinda filler, wouldn’t have taken much. Caruso DeMar KCP LBJ AD w Kuzma Wes Matthews Markieff then their dumb front office could’ve signed a decent vet PG & C. But just having that core of Caruso KCP DeMar Kuz LBJ AD would’ve been rly nice for the next couple years to build and make moves around instead of the Russ debacle lol.
