In this Video we fit the 183mm main gun and the rear ground spade.
Some great progress has been made but there is still a long way to go before we are ready for Tank fest.
This Project wouldn’t have been possible without
‪@WorldOfTanksOfficialChannel‬ & ‪@thetankmuseum‬
And not to mention each and everyone who personally donated money to this build!

I really think there needs to be a TED talk about the FV at this year's Tankfest. I'd love to see Ted explaining how he doggedly persevered through the course of this massive project without even a paws to gnaw on any potential bones of contention.

3:41 awesomely beautiful way you are going to get that rooftop cal .50. Getting all our support first in a public video, doesn’t leave the Tank Museum many options….😂
@babalonkie

You can even see the holes in the turret for the roof mounted MG... THAT very turret had the MG installed at one point.
@TheSavageRepairman
@TheSavageRepairman 3 ай бұрын
Indeed, it is only right to restore every option that was on the original vehicle. Otherwise, it is simply heartbreaking to stop the restoration so short of completion. In addition to the MG, the access door appears to have some sort of sliding plate on it with a large X. I wish to know what the purpose of that was for.
@TheOnlyNate115
@TheOnlyNate115 3 ай бұрын
it would have had the .50 cal as some sort of sighting gun quite possibly not for infantry, that probably had it first before they developed the ammunition to match the balistic properties of the 183mm (b)hesh for the coaxial 7.62. thats my best guess atleast

Looked like an M2 .50 cal, and given the location of the Browning and the firing position, and the type of vehicle it's on, it sure looks to be the typical very optimistic air defense armament... 🤔🤷‍♂️

Nothing exceptional about "large gun in giant unarmored box". KV-2 or the German Heuschrecke for WW2 examples. The only real notable one is the KV-2 because it was the only one that went beyond the prototype stage.

What is it with our fascination with these machines? I am not sure I understand mine, but I think it's the size, weight and mechanical engineering and know-how that's behind them machines. There is also an element of Beauty if that's fair to say. Some tanks just look awesome. The fact that people operated them during a crisis and always risk their life's for one reason or another.
