I don't know if you get the same vibe from this movie, but I think it was so successful in Spain because it was filmed in a very typical "documentary of a local TV station" kind of way. The protagonist was very familiar because (apart from being an actress) she is a real TV host and was quite known at the time. So it felt very "real" in a way.

Just like the Wrong Turn series, the REC series got more and more grotesque over the years, but I still enjoyed them 😂 However, REC 2 is also really really good! You definitely need to watch that one!

You're so right about foreign horror being the absolute best!! hollywood movies can be so formulaic and watered down, especially in our current era of reboots and sequels dominating the market. watching foreign horror always feels like a breath of fresh air to me! I just recently watched The Vanishing (1988) for free on youtube which is insane to me because that shit scared me so fucking badly, it's a Dutch film about a couple on holiday in France, when the woman suddenly goes missing without a trace. the man becomes completely obsessed with finding out what happened to her and at the very end of the movie he finds out EXACTLY what happened to her because he meets the same fate. there's hardly any blood and it still manages to be totally horrific and scary, i think you'd like it!!

Unfortunately I watch the US remake of this movie and then finally saw this one (I had no idea that the US one was a remake until I investigated) which is far superior. I've also seen Rec 2 which is a trip but both movies are so good.

There's an American remake of this called Quarantine. Like most American remakes, it manages to be a replica of the film, but lacks all the heart and soul, it's not good at all. I saw someone recommend Let The Right One In, and I'm gonna back them up on that. It's a Swedish horror film, and it's so good!

I feel the exact same way about 3hrs movies. It's annoying because I love movies and I won't deny I've seen amazing movies that go beyond the 1:30:00 mark (John Wick 4, for example, it's almost 3hrs but I liked it soooooo much!). But sometimes a plot can be described and/or resolved in less than 2hrs. I'm sure it has a lot to do with the fact that I can't just stay quiet and watch a movie without pausing (unless I'm at the movie theater), but sometimes long movies are just unbearable to me. I haven't even watched the reaction, but I loved that part hahahaha. Also, I'm kind of new to the channel, but I really like your vibe! Keep on going! So, there are two movies called Ravenous I'd recommend to you. The first one came out in 2017 and is a French-Canadian horror film and it's about a small group of strangers trying to survive zombies. The other one came out in 1999 and is a cannibalism horror movie about manifest destiny (so they say, but the real story is in the STRONG subtext of homose xual identity and acceptance of self and found families). It's kind of a cult film, but I think you might like it. It has some humor in it and some good-looking men.

Tristana Midieros was a girl possessed by a demon, and the possession became like a viral disease causing everyone to go nuts and get all bloody. Similar to the symptoms of rabies, but much worse. Because the priest tried to get rid of any trace of the possession, he had to ritualistically seal her away from the physical world. It's only when Pablo's nightvision is turned on that we see Tristana's monstrous form. Javier Botet was the actor who played Tristana, and the makeup effects team did a good job of making Javier look extremely hideous. Without spoiling Quarantine too much, the plot was based on a strain of rabies that spread at an alarm rate, whereas [REC] had a plot that had a viral demonic possession.
