I didn't do pantry challenge, I always have planned my dinners for the week,have the same things for breakfast every day, as for lunch that's hubby's choice. Don't go out to eat much but once a week we do take out.

You did good! I did the pantry challenge through the week but not on the weekends. My husband loves his fried seafood so we go just about every Saturday to the fish restaurant. Sundays we eat lunch out after church because my husband is ready to eat and not wait on me to cook. Great challenge! I am so thankful Mary is doing so good! Tell her I am still praying for her. I hope her house is ready soon. ❤

You did great all month! You have encouraged me to use more of the things I already have in my pantry. I'm not doing so well with my weight...I have gained. But, I just lost my mom in Nov and we had to put our beloved 17 year old dog to sleep after Christmas because she was so very sick. I'm really hoping to find the energy and drive to work on Me this month. I know that I need to so that I can also continue to take care of my family. Anyway, you're looking great and have such a positive outlook! Continued prayers for Mary and Barbara. Take care and God Bless! ❤

Joan's right, I really look at ingredients now, I try and keep as clean as I can because of inflammation in my body, I have lost just under 30 lbs, I think your doing things in moderation, which is the way we all should doing it

Good work on the pantry challenge and not eating out! I really don’t have surplus food since we eat the same things most of the time. I have been making myself use up all my cleaning supplies, shampoo/ conditioner, and not shop on Amazon as much. I don’t need as much “stuff” since I retired. I was a teacher and was always buying things for my classroom.

Great job, Sandy !! I've never had a menu plan in my entire life. Hubby and I are empty nesters and in all honesty at times it's cheaper for us to eat out with subs for example. By the time I buy all the ingredients for subs I've spent a small fortune ! Thanks for sharing 😊

What interesting insights about the challenge! No matter how much I try to plan a menu, it just doesn’t work for me. I can plan the day if it night before for the following day but not a week. I think because there are so many other people in my family that I don’t know how they’re going to feel from one day to the next.

Great job Sandy! I did very well on my challenge. I have made supper plans for the month of February and I had enough meats or freezer meals to get through 4 days into feb without shopping. I do have other ingredients to do to meals the rest of February but definitely need to buy meats and some other things. Although I did not do the challenge, I’ve been working on cutting back on my spending and impulse grocery buys. Since the virus years I had to throw out a lot of food due to expired dates, this is costly. As my late grandfather use to say, “just because you are putting it in freezer, refrigerator or cupboard does not mean it’s going to improve over time”! Since I’ve been on weight loss program, when I’m out and about and become very tempted to drive through fast food, I stop and think about what I have at home and am usually able to steer myself away from drive thru.

i don’t like menu planning either. I like to prep breakfast and lunch ahead so that I don’t have to think about it. Just planning dinners is all I would want to do. I have a fairly well stocked pantry so I have something I can fix everyday. Just know a general idea of which protein ( all my meals revolve around a protein) and then usually on a daily basis think about what I’m in the mood for to go with it. That probably doesn’t make a bit of sense but it’s pretty much how I roll.

I changed my personal goal. I'm hearing rumblings about having to have both knees replaced. With that being said, I lost 7 pounds in the month of January, which is a lot for me, especially since I am in my 60s. I dubbed myself queen of Planet Turtle a long time ago. As far as the challenge went, I had done that in October into November and pretty much wiped my cabinets and freezer out. I did it early because I needed to defrost the freezer, so I didn't have too much to do. I did do the freezer portion again, though. I am pretty sure I have enough meat in it to make it through February and plenty of sides to make meals, with the exception of vegetables and fridge stuff(read as produce, milk etc). I'm thinking I may just see how far I can go through February.

Yay. You did great. I did great also. It was my 3rd year doing it and I spent just over $40 for us for produce and dairy. We also missed the eating out so we are going out for fish tonight. I did “no sugar” and honest tracking on WW as I had a sugar fest between Thanksgiving and New Year’s. So I lost 11 lbs and am back to goal.🎉

Unlike you, I enjoy menu planning, even though it’s just for one. If I don’t, I get lazy and just have cheese and crackers for dinner! I do eat a LOT of leftovers with menu planning and also freeze a lot of meals. I challenged myself to not eat out in January, and I was successful at that.
