hey! just to note, calligraphy ink is a little more viscous than fountain pen ink, so it may clog up your pen :) (though its an excuse to get a dip pen!!!)

I usually watch your videos on Sundays, but I discovered it too late last night. Watching it now, as I plan my week, is a joy! Happy Academia Eve! I, too, enjoy the return to routine that September brings.

I’m glad that I can keep you company on a Monday, one of the best days, I’d “argue”. The routine is serving me well, and so are these cool “almost-September” mornings. 🍀🍂

The best way to beat the Sunday scaries is to watch one of your videos❤️ can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the 2025 hobonichi line up!

such a nice watch while i did some craft bits :-) i loved seeing your new stationery items and it was nice to learn a little about finland through your experience. so glad the fountain pens are working out so nicely for you.

29:55 It was probably a good thing that the filling didn't work out so well! These Windsor & Newton inks are usually "India Inks", which are for dip pens only and will irreparably clog up your fountain pens.

Yes, I was just about to chime in on this. Never, ever, use calligraphy ink in a fountain pen. It will destroy it.

I have truly given a heart attack to everyone who has ever used fountain pens! 😄 I discovered this fact about the ink very soon after purchasing it, and weakened it with some water before attempting to put it in the cartridge, some of it went in and I could write with it, but I sprinted to the local bookstore to get some Kaweco inks the next morning when I found out they had some 😮💨🌟 This is something I should have mentioned in the video to avoid the palpitations…❤️🩹 It is very good though, that you have all mentioned this in the comments! Firstly, thank you for having the back of me and my pens, secondly, new “pen-pals” will learn a very important cautionary fact about India Inks and fountain pens ☺️

Oh I just love love those little Moomin booklets!🐇 I’m in the wilds of Canada and options are so limited to non existent. I end up just making little books from scrap paper.🐇🐇🐇💚

I always admire your bookbinding! When you mentioned for the first time, I have been wanting to try it ever since. However, these Moomin booklets just jumped into my basket 🍀

Some beautiful pieces you have found in Finland. And I love the idea of the birthday letters thats really lovely idea! Youve inspired me to keep an eye out for more stickers. Ive not historically used many but it looks like a fun thing to collect!

In American english, you strike a match to light it. I always enjoy your videos, you have a very pleasant voice. And I really like the idea of using a different color when you back fill, it is going to give your journal a nice look. Thanks for sharing your planner 🩷

They have been publishing Donald Duck now actually over 60 years at once a week and ten years more once or twice a month. So it really has a long history in Finland. I don't think there is many homes that wouldn't have at least one of the comics either the weekly magazine or the thicker comic books lol.
@TheCommonCorner2 ай бұрын
Ahhh 60 years!? 🌟 I didn’t realise it has indeed been running for so long. And yes, you can find them in every home, sometimes even in the bathrooms to keep you company :D

Lovely video Elle - good to hear you enjoyed your trip home and it was lovely to see your sisters journals ❤️ I do have a question as I am a bit confused. I have a Hobonichi Day Free which I thought was A5. The page measurements are 14.5cm x 21cm - however, if your Avec is same size, I cant work out how you fit so much on one page? If I use stickers or ephemera, my page is really full already but you seem to fit stickers and lots of writing too 🤷😊 Do you think yours just looks bigger on camera? Many thanks in advance ,😊❤️

Oh no... please don't put calligraphy inks in your fountain pens. They are a different kind of formula from fountain pen inks and it will ruin your pens to where they can't be used even after cleaning them.
@TheCommonCorner2 ай бұрын
This would have indeed been a recipe for disaster! I should have mentioned that I weakened the ink with water before I tried to drop it in the cartridge 🫡 And also washed it out the next morning when I found some Kaweco ink! But I didn’t mention this and accidentally gave everyone with a fountain pen a nice heart attack…❤️🩹 Apologies and thank you for looking out for me!! 🍀

I've been watching your channel on and off and I always had this hunch of you being finnish, and I was right! I can't for the life of me figure out where you can find blunt syringes in finland. I had a awkward encounter with a local pharmacist trying to ask for one, ending up with a sharp ome and a strong feeling on the sellers part that I use drugs 🥲

Heheh I feel like us Finns are very good at noticing other Finns 🙂↕️🌟 Lovely to have you here! It feels very special to have the support of motherland’s folk ❣️ I was also about to go to the pharmacy to get one before finding that Suomalainen Kirjakauppa sells Kaweco ink hahah, I can imagine the interaction between you and the pharmacist :D
