A world first, the Zero.1 Elite features an innovative, removable infant carrier which simply fits into a child car seat and it is just one product!
Weighing just 2.9 kg, the carrier has a 3-point harness which is Recaro’s very own HERO safety system that prevents belts from slipping or twisting and makes buckling up easy. It also features a removable inlay for your newborn baby. The carrier secures into the rotating, extended rear-facing child seat that can be used for children up to 76cm tall and a maximum weight of 10kg. The rotating function can be locked too which means when you place your baby in the infant carrier it is prevented from going into forward-facing mode by accident.
Safety first; Colour indicators will let you know that the base with integrated child seat is fitted correctly, and that the infant carrier is fitted correctly too! There is triple side impact protection on the main seat and as the infant carrier is inserted into the child seat, the side impact protection can also be activated just the same, just pull out the fold-out wings.
The seat can be put into a forward-facing position once your child has reached around 15 months old and a minimum height of 76cm and up to the weight of 18kg (that’s approx. 4 years old!).
Thanks to its clever 360° rotating function (re-boarder), it is a much easier way to place, fasten and remove your little one from their seat without straining. The one-hand turn activator makes every trip and transition easy and your child seat can be switched from forward facing to rearward facing too however it is recommended that your child is transported in a rear-facing direction as long as possible.
The child seat can be reclined in both directions. There is a flexible insert booster cushion if you wish to use. The multi-height headrest and harness system (with memory foam) adjust together and require no re-threading of harness and the 3-point harness with shoulder and lower buckle covers tighten with a one pull motion.
It is easily installed using the ISOFIX points in your vehicle; the base is already attached too so there's no need to buy separately! And for every action there is an indicator to let you know that it is correct as we show in the video; whether the seat is installed in the vehicle correctly (both ISOFIX points and leg) and in the correct position on the base.
