That Soundgarden vinyl is a extremely good find, I’m really jealous because I love that band
@thevinylvault Жыл бұрын
Yes, it’s an LP that very rarely turns up. I can only imagine it did not sell very well when it was released. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.
@wyatscdsvinylsetc Жыл бұрын
@@thevinylvault Actually, the story is that this album was released in 1991, when records dropped in popularity, and CDs rose in popularity, so they made way less records in the nineties, and the ones that were released were limited editions. And it is not true that it did not sell well, it sold over a million copies in the early 90s, and by 1996, it had sold over 2 million copies.
@thevinylvault Жыл бұрын
@@wyatscdsvinylsetc Oh yes 1991. You are correct I forgot the record companies were phasing out vinyl around this time. Did they actually sell over 1 million copies on vinyl then? If so maybe I will find more in time to come.

Thanks so much for taking the time to comment and I do relate to your thoughts. I guess it has been a good year but as I have said many times before I put in so many hours looking for records it’s only a matter of time before I find some good ones. I have spent hours, days, months and years looking for records and on many occasions with little success. Trust me it’s not all roses. If I had been making videos years ago it would have blown your mind with the things I found. Thanks for watching.

@@thevinylvault no worries. Over here a vg copy of basic some 70s 80s pop records say abba cat Stevens eagles elo billy joel madonna wings steelie dan grease sat nite fever rumours police and the like u can get $20 - 25aud or 10 - 13 quid all day and all it has to be is presentable cover vinyl plays well no skips but visually a few scuff even the odd scratch is ok. The amount of young ones and older peeps coming back to vinyl in the last 5 years is amazing. They all want the commercial classics. They may not be able to afford new prices, here $50 single lp up to $100 for a double (£26 to £52) some single lps start at £34 but £10ish for pre loved is ok. If i had multiple copies of this stuff i could limp on sales wise indefinitely. This run of the mill pop stuff is drying up thou..

I hear you and everything you say make complete sense especially the bit about them being willing and able to pay for the pre loved copies. Thanks again and good hunting.

You must do a ton of digging and regular revisits. £25 is a bargain and something for everyone there even like myself the discerning Arsenal supporter. Stand out for me were the dance 12"s and the house of love.

I do a ton of visits but not to the charity shops. I gave up on them years ago however, I was passing a little independent one and thought I would go in and take a look. The main charity shops are clued up and price these things individually before they put them out. I have even heard that Oxfam send all of their records to a main office to be priced first. Not sure if that is true?
@Thevinylscavenger Жыл бұрын
@@thevinylvault usually yes they as in most charity shops send them elsewhere though I think they still make mistakes. I've got some bargains still and it's also a fact if you help in a charity shop you'll probably get first dibs on the vinyl........

Very lucky. I've found most Charity shops are no longer very good for finding records. Best I've found in the last year was 3 lps creedence, turtles and a 1st press of climax blues. Other than that, nothing. If there is anything good it's often overpriced. I even saw one charity shop trying to get £17 for face value by phil Collins??? I questioned the manger about that price and he got proper arsey with me. Soundgarden great find
