Superb Mass by a great Maestro as his Brother, and when it comes to Choral music he’s one of Classical’s giants and admired by many composers of this genre?❤ Thanks Pau

Bella messa con un ritmo sostenuto e piacevole. Ottima resa anche in considerazione del limitato organico orchestrale

I'm an American who's going to use this space as an opportunity to vent (negatively) about my own country and its tawdry culture. If you rounded up 100 people from the USA, about 3 would find this mass enchanting; maybe another 10 could listen to it without cringing. The rest would find it 1) boring; 2) incomprehensible; 3) too Catholic; 4) subject to cancellation as by a dead white man. I used to play stuff like this for my little boys and now for my grandson and I think it gives them focus; it takes the edge off the constant stimulation our consumer culture provides; and the chorus and orchestra provide an inner dialog that helps their speech development - not to mention its actual purpose as a mass! Why do American students test (and perform) poorly in language and mathematics (and if you think this is just a testing anomaly, try reading their written comments - written by native English speakers!)? I think our nonsense pop culture, bought into by older people who are supposed to know better, is part of the problem.

Missa Sti Hieronymi - 30 September 1777., the feast day of St. Jerome (creator Vulgate) - M.Haydn Missa does indeed fulfill Jerome’s prescription - it does "sing from the heart, in the knowledge of the Lord"! W.A. Mozart, called M. Haydn a "superlative master of counterpoint".
