This is exactly how my Granny made collards and corn bread. She never measured anything! Her cornbread was delicious and perfect. If I did know better I would of swore that was her in this video. I smiled the whole time I watched it. Thank you for sharing. I’ll be making this today in her memory. ❤️

I recently purchased 2 of the Pressure Cookers XL and I love them. Cooked my Thanksgiving Turkey in the 10 quart after I had brined it for 24 hours and it only took 40 minutes. So tender and very yummy! Love my pressure cookers so much and use them very often. Thanks for sharing your collard video!

Hey Debbie, Great video! I'm not much of a Collard Green Fan, but I do cook a LOT of Kale, Turnips, and Cabbage in my Power Pressure Cooker XL. These are so much better than Crock Pots. Thanks for the wonderful video and God Bless... :-)

I didn't know that you could make make butter milk by mixing regular milk with vinegar, and that is new to me. Those collard greens are looking great, and so does the corn bread, and I am so hungry until I have to make some greens and corn bread today. I thank you for sharing your recipe on making those greens.

I like to crumble the cornbread on the greens. Put a bit of Tabasco on them too. :)

What is the brand of your corn bread mix? I couldn't see the front of the bag.

Martha White buttermilk cornbread mix. Basically 1 cup flour to 2 cups corn meal. Add 2 tablespoons oil or used cooking shorting or oil, two eggs scrambled and whole butter milk till consistency is a little dryer than pancake batter. cook in preheated oven at 400 around 30 min. or until golden brown, in preheated well oiled cast iron skillet as she did.

Debbie Holland I don't use flour with my corn bread. I do usually use Martha White corn meal but I only use one egg and I always use a cast iron skillet that has been preheated in my oven with canola oil so that the oil is extremely hot and I pour that in the cornmeal and mix it with the other ingredients right before I put it in the oven usually between 350 to 400 degrees.

So you don’t have to wash the pre packaged collard greens?
@DebbieFoodPrepping

Lori Sharp Hi Lori! It says on the packages that I get that it is prewashed so I don't wash them. I figure for as long as they cook, if there is anything on them, the heat will kill it. Lol. You have a great day!!
