"or whatever you like, or whatever was on sale" "this recipe also calls for ... but i didn't have it and i'm not going to a store just for that" I really appreciate all these phrases, because I feel like it is helping a lot of people, who might be struggling in any way. It shows exactly what you are trying to show on your channel - that cooking doesn't have to be difficult, doesn't have to be expensive, we can do with whatever we have on hand at the moment. It's really super kind and lovely, but also realistic, practical and reassuring for a lot of people. Thank you!

I used beef bottom round roast for the Fajitas that the butcher at my local grocery store pre-sliced. It is also sold as 'carne asada' beef. It works beautifully, the cut is way cheaper, and the marinade can flavor all the meat. I highly recommend it.

I'm really liking these recipes with the basic soup mixes and stuff and I'm well aware that you can make your own they do and don't taste the same. But I grew up with onion soup mix and it's like your mom I always had it in my cabinet or some variety of it I got so I liked beefy onion soup mix and until I got too costly to buy. I figured you could probably put beef broth or beef bouillon or something in it to change it but I never even tried just went back to the basic onion soup mix store brand

My favorite part was your son showing us his black raspberry. My grandparents grew them in their backyard and would harvest and freeze them until they had enough to make jelly. That was the best jelly ever! I like to use onion soup mix on a roast. In my crockpot, I put my potatoes in, then the roast and spread my carrots around it. Then pour the soup mix and a can of tomato soup over the roast. Top it with wedges of onion and cook on low for 8 hour. The meat just falls apart.
@MealsWithMaria2 жыл бұрын
That recipe is very popular among viewers! I use it too! So good! I’m already looking forward to fall crock pot meals 🙏. We grow those berries in our backyard too! The kids pick them themselves, great activity when they ask for a snack!

Mix the onion soup powder with 300ml of cream and pour it over any veggies of your choice (we love onion, peppers, butternut, mushrooms, zucchini, green beans). Cover with foil and bake in the oven for an hour or until the veggies are to your liking. Mix with pasta and enjoy as a side dish or add left over chicken or steak for a complete meal.

Hi from Australia- loving these videos- interesting to see what everyday meals you eat over there! Here we have “French onion soup mix”- I’m guessing it’s fairly similar! My favourite cheap thing to cook is apricot chicken- a retro Aussie Classic, that I recently discovered was American originally. We do it super easy- a ton of apricot nectar/juice and a packet of French onion soup mix, plus about 2 pounds (1 kg) of bone in skin on chicken (that’s the best, but really you can use ANY chicken) and bake in the over or slow cooker for a few hours at about 180 Celsius. If you want to get fancy you can add some caremlauzed onions and dried apricots in too. But the basic version is DELICIOUS with rice. Is that still cooked in the US, or has it fallen out of fashion?
