Reciting Surah Al-Fatiha - Al-Ikhlas upon the Dead person is Bid'ah?

Reciting the Surah Al Fatiha and Al Ikhlas on the deceased - an innovation?

Summary: There is no evidence from the sunnah or hadith that the Prophet has instructed anyone of us to recite any surah from the quran for the deceased..rather we have been instructed to make dua for them. Salat ul janaza is all about dua as well. Its astonishing how people abandon what Allah and the Prophet SAWS have approved, recommended and liked for us to do..and we search for things which are not supported by sound hadith. Reciting surah yasin at the grave, forming gathering of "khatam of quran" in which people read the quran for the deceased to give reward, are not the actions of what the Prophet SAWS used to do they are all innovations. We have his actions which are very as clear as daylight, so stick to that. If you truly want to benefit the deceased, irrespective of their relation to you...just make dua for them and include them religiously in your prayers. You can read as much quran as you want for yourself and make dua in the end of your recitation for the deceased and that dua will be accepted. (Because dua after ibadah is accepted) You can make dua for them in your sajood. You can perform Hajj and Umrah on their behalf as well. You can even make up their missed fasts if they had any. But you cannot pray Salah for them if they hadnt prayed it themselves. So no recitation of the Quran and no praying of Salah for the deceased. Some scholars do say that the reward for quran recitation can reach the dead. But it is more beneficial to stick to what is gauranteed. Hence, try not to deviate.

Al-Qur'an Al-Kareem Chapter 35 (Fatir/Originator) (35:22) "And not equal are the living and the dead. Indeed, Allah causes to hear whom He wills, but you cannot make hear those in the graves. Qur'an Chapter 36 (Yasin) (36:69) "And We did not give Prophet Muhammad, knowledge of poetry, nor is it befitting for him. It is not but a message and a clear Qur'an. (36:70) "To warn whoever is alive and justify the word against the disbelievers".

Assalamualiakum My mother did some zikir and then readed surah fatiya and then she slept for almost 2 hours, after that she died while sleeping in hospital What does quran or hadees says about this? Please give me strong reply with reference

More wahhabi drivel, all these people do is go against the scholars and cause mis guidance. Surah Fatiha is a form of dua for Allah’s forgiveness and guidance - nothing is wrong with reciting Quran for the dead. If you can go to Hajj for the dead, which involves reciting Quran, fasting, and making dua then reciting Quran has already been established as Sunnah in this frame. This wahhabi opinion is nonsense which goes against the consensus.

if dua for dead ones are not allowed then why we make a dua in salah for them? if dua is allowed them reciting some surah or quran for the dead ones it has nothing wrong. i generally dont criticise any sect but i am very sorry to say that wahabi/salafi school of thought is far beyond my understanding and that's why i dont agree to most of their interpretations of quran and sunnah the way they derive. as they are very rigid and strict compared to other school of thoughts which is wrong, let everyone practice what they believe in , for the final verdict of Allah there is judgement day and let Him be the judge that's it.

That's it .. so do it at funerals ... kholass... the rest which are not ordained by Allah nor practised by our prophet ( pbuh) and his companions ... you don't create your own... why is it so hard to understand ?????
