Question. How do I remover the Beavertail and rear strap retaining buckles? I can't quite work it out. Are you supposed to just jam them through the holes in the harness? Beautiful gear by the way. I've been a big fan of your design ethos for years. That Ektotherm is a lifesaver, and everything I buy from you seems well built or curated. I even got a 4th Gear Flyer on your recommendation, and its the most fun surf craft thee is. Many thanks for your continued output.

Hey Duncan - Are you trying to remove the beavertail and rear strap on a Reckless 40 or 80? On the Reckless 40L, you just need to open the alligator clips and everything should come off. On the Reckless 80L, if you look at the underside of the buckle there is a gap to work the strap through so you can remove the buckle. Then pull the velcro strap keeper out of the strap and then you should be able to remove the strap. Thanks for the stoke and hopefully we'll catch each other on the trail!

@@MoskoMoto Its the 40. There are no alligator clips (I'm not sure what you mean here to be honest, my understanding of alligator CLAMPS are what we use to connect jumper cables to batteries, or other electrical bit and bobs.) The beavertail straps are a permanently sewn loop, and the plastic (metal for the rear straps) hardware behind the Curv baseplate and holding the loop in, does not appear to have a gap to work the strap through. Is there a pdf manual for this sort of thing? ThePDF on the main website doesn't cover it other than to say it's possible.

SOLVED I've seen RTW Pauls video where he pulls the buckle up through the slot in the baseplate with a screwdriver. It totally works. I'd recommend using an exhaust spring puller. Just pull the buckle holding the loop behind the Curv baseplate up through the slot, just enough to get a gap you can slip the tool hook into, and pull hard. Don't hit yourself on the nose with the tool or fist. Anyway, thanks for trying.

What is the Reckless system (40L and 80L) like when they are empty? Could you keep them on full-time? Is it best to only use when carrying a load? Do they flop around?

The holsters hold their shape until you get up closer to the opening at the top. However, you can use the straps to help compress the leg holster when they aren't full if you leave it on your bike longer term.

Will this system mount properly to a 22' model Triumph Street Twin with no rear fender and a bench seat? Thank you in advance.

Hey Cloud9847 - The biggest hurdle you will have to overcome is where to attach the rear mounting straps. We have had customers bolt a set of cleats to somewhere secure when they don't have a rear rack for mounting straps attachment points. You can also send photos to our Customer Service Team at moskomoto@moskomoto.com for a second opinion. Additionally, you post photos and this question on our Facebook Group - Mosko Moto Riders Group to see if anyone has done anything similar!

Blue loctite on the aux pox screws too?

You can add blue Loctite to the Aux Pox mounting screws unless you plan to remove the aux pox often than we'd recommend skipping it.

Honest question, I'd like to set up my new Reckless 40 correctly the FIRST time. Do you call a (2022) KTM 500 EXC-F a "dirt BIKE" OR an "adventure bike". Thanks!

It depends because it can be both depending on the situation. If you don't have a support rack like the True North Moto rack than the Narrow setting will likely be the better option.

Will it fit the Yamaha Tracer GT+?

Hey Yodapapa - As long as your bike has spots for the mounting straps to attach to you shouldn't have any issues mounting a Reckless 40L on your Tracer GT. We would recommend installing it in the "Wide" setting.
