I would like to sincerely apologize for not being able to pronounce Lizzy's name correctly😬

Hello! We made a big chunk of this record not far from you, down in Eugene. I really enjoyed watching your reaction...always nice to hear the opinions of an experienced set of ears. One thing stood out; you inferred that there might be a 'they' pushing her in a particular creative direction. For what it's worth, Lizzy is her own creative director. This song went through many iterations along the way and she didn't let it rest until it was what she imagined it should be. She also conceptualized and wrote most of the script for the series of videos she's been releasing. In short, yes, she's the real deal : ) Cheers!

Hi Ehren! Nice job btw! That’s great to hear and I definitely can tell she’s the real deal! I didn’t mean to disparage the song in any way I really liked it! I love that she is her own creative director. Lately with “pop” music you have the 10 or so Swedish writers and a handful of the “it” producers involved, it’s nice to know that this is not one of those 😆. Thanks for the reply and congrats on this!

I am no expert on music but it only took me a short while to realize that Lizzy was something special. It's nice to hear Mr. Ebbage talk about her and how she has total control over her music. I listened when it was only her and a guitar and every song surprised me with a note, a chord, a lyric that a young kid shouldn't have so easily figured out. Her voice is haunting and just spews raw emotion. Her lyrics bring back feelings I had 40 years ago. My wife and I are traveling from Buffalo to DC to finally see her this fall. I think she can get amazing production teams and collaborators because her talent seems limitless.

Her new album comes out in April, can't wait to hear the final version of Ceilings, absolutely in love with it kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZupm5ZpbZeNpbM Really hope she'll be the opener on dodie's European tour as well (she's on tour with her in the US right now) or will tour herself Europe at some point, it sucks to have a favorite musician from the other side of the planet haha.

Thanks for this comment, she’s a real talent and I have to say I love her solo performance here! I’m actually going to go see her and Dodi here in seattle in a few weeks

@@BarrettJonesProducer Jealous, turned out, we won't get Lizzy on the European dodie tour :( . Not sure how familiar are you with Lizzy's music, but if you liked Ceilings, you should definitely check out Stupid and What are we from her last album. Also, if you've never been to a dodie concert (what i would guess), that'll be an experience :D she has a really enthusiastic audience, i'tll be fun :) (hope you have tickets, that show is sold out).

Barrett needs to watch the live version of this and hear Lizzy's maturing and strengthening voice before yapping about autotune. I usually pick up on autotune because it is just awful. Don't find it here. This is a marvelous song all the way round.

Michael, before you accuse me of “yapping” about auto tune in this song (it’s there) please be aware that I think Lizzy is a huge talent and love her stuff! And I said this was a great song, I knew nothing about her when I made this video so it does need to be understood in that context. Please watch my other video for Lizzy’s song with Finneas: Reaction! Hate To Be Lame - Lizzy McAlpine FEAT. Finneas kzbin.info/www/bejne/qqulZaWZmL2tfKM

You are spot on, I dislike the auto tune, and not keen on the duet. I enjoyed your analysis, the measured breakdown. I definitely will be looking forward to additional assessments of new artists. Thanks.

Thank you! Not sure why I couldn’t pronounce that properly 😬
@GeekRex2 жыл бұрын
Actually there is a couple of ways to pronounce McAlpine. A UK version would be Mc-alpen. She pronounces it Mc-Alpine. I'll go with what she says.
