When this song came out. I was deployed with the United States Army after 911. I came home on leave, and my amazing wife had tickets for Toby Keith live in our hometown. That song was perfect for the time. We were as a country both angry, and unified like never before. Toby told it like it was in no uncertain terms.Today my youngest child is deployed in the Middle East protecting Israel and the interests of the USA. I am proud, terrified, and still angry. Thank you for your video. God bless you, Toby Keith and the United States of America.

Check out 'Good as I once was' or; How do you like me now?' for some laughs.

It’s really something special to be American. I’m a first generation American. Both of my parents (Polish, Catholic) were in Nazi camps during WW2. Both were liberated by US soldiers (the fierce 82nd Airborne🪂). Then after 4 years in refugee (Displaced Persons) camps in Germany, they emigrated to the US. My father joined the US Army after learning English and graduating from high school and was sworn in as an American citizen while stationed in Korea. Years later, my own son joined the Army and served in the very same 82nd Airborne that had rescued my parents from certain death. My son went on to earn a combat badge in Afghanistan. American patriotism is euphoric. Anyone can be American. Being a first generation American does not make me less American than George Bush or the Pilgrims of 1620. We are a country of scrappy underdogs. Don’t believe the news or media. Americanism is unity and heroism and humbleness and some self-deprecating humor.

Toby was a great country and American icon. He was 62 years old when he passed away on February 5th and his birthday was July 8th. He actually at first never planned to record this song but only play it for the troops. Commandant of the Marine Corps James L. Jones told Toby it was his duty as an American citizen to record the song. "It's your job as an entertainer to lift the morale of the troops," Jones said to Toby. "If you want to serve, that is what you can do" R.I.P. Toby Keith.

I think that she didn't want that song played, because of the fact that her husband was the one who failed America and allowed 9/11 to happen, and this song shows it.The warnings were there but and his Administration chose not to listen, not just my opinion if you do the proper research, the reports about probable terrorist attacks was on Bush's desk unread more than a week before 9/11 .He and Trump have something in common, they didn't read the daily briefing reports ,the irony that his wife was a librarian. Yes I know what I am talking about because I know someone who worked in the White house and has now retired.

I think you nailed it when you said that the US military forces are not just out there defending US interests but fighting for freedom from oppression across the globe. While the States are struggling with massive division between liberals and conservatives at the moment, our Constitution is still the bedrock of our country and should be considered as a model for other freedom loving people around the world. Do we get it right all the time? Who does? But you can't look at the US and not see the positive impacts made around the world.

My Uncle was one of the paratroopers from the101st Airborne that landed on Normandy. He was shot. Another Uncle was in the Battle of the Bulge. He died. When my dad passed away, I took his "veteran" plate off his car and put it on mine in remembrance. I was going to visit his grave one day. There was a group of servicemen at another grave. When they saw that veteran plate, they came down to road, lined up, and saluted me. I burst into tears and felt bad. It wasn't for me. So in my mind, it was for my Dad. I'll never know who they were. But I thank every serviceman on here for their service. 🇺🇸 Thank you, Miss Carol and Mr Recky, for this reaction! 🇺🇸
