Last week I tried to stain pine with a Mahogany colour and honestly it looked shit so I applied linseed oil and tried to apply again with the same shitty result 😡 Ive stained hardwood with no problems but for some reason pine didn't work 🙁

Beautiful results. It looks pretty sturdy. I have four kids, two of whom are insane eight years old so i really appreciate ideas for strong furniture. When I built their bunk beds I had in mind a tornado and a landslide coalescing into evil ginger twins.

Great looking bench. Great tip with squaring the mitersaw. A real bummer to realise you were 1-2 degrees off after all the cuts have been made

I recently found some 4 in x 8 inch x 21 inch chunks of wood. I think these would be good for bench legs- can you think of any other uses?
@WalkersWoodworks5 жыл бұрын
They would definitely work for that.

Is your opinion that dowels add more strength than the glue-up alone? How do dowels compare to driving long woodscrews in (and then covering with a wood plug)? (Nice job BTW).
@WalkersWoodworks3 жыл бұрын
Definitely stronger than screws 👍

Could this be up scaled just a bit as a desktop table for a PC and would adding metal C's throughout the bottom be preferred?
@WalkersWoodworks4 жыл бұрын
Yea it would work fine.

Very NIce build. I am incorporating some of your ideas into a console table. A question if I may. It seemed you put the dowels in after the initial glue up. Is there a reason you do it that way instead of dowelling it and gluing everything at the same time?
@WalkersWoodworks3 жыл бұрын
No reason. Probably should put them in first honestly lol.
@samvaldivia39335 жыл бұрын

Funny that your woodpecker square is worth more than you biscuit joiner.
@WalkersWoodworks5 жыл бұрын
Haha true story! 😂😂
@jenniferw89635 жыл бұрын
@@WalkersWoodworks I watched a video that showed biscuit really don't provide any strength. Much better with dowel or domino or even kreg. Dowelmax did a comparison of domino and their dowel jig and the dowels won , interestingly.
@WalkersWoodworks5 жыл бұрын
J G that's true. The biscuits are mostly just for alignment.
