"...(L)argest uncontacted tribe...?" How did they survive "massacres and slavery" without being contacted?

It would be more accurate if they would say the worlds "least contacted tribe".

@@kb9826 'Uncontacted' in an anthropological sense means that they refuse to adopt modern lifestyle, not that they have never had contact with 'civilization'.

I’m glad the reporter threw the wood question at her. It demonstrates that she’s used to an echo chamber as she was so taken aback and unable to answer. I do support her cause, I do want these people left alone and the virgin rainforest intact. The professional advocates for the cause need to get used to basic questions that they should easily refute.

LoL she's surprised cuz it's a ignorant question in modern day. The bulk of furnitures and housewares are made from wood sawdust from many recycled sources then bind together with glue then shaped for design and finally a plastic sheet imitating wood will be glued over the shaped sawdust. For at least 2 decades this is mass produced, the reporter is from the past

@@fatteebaddee there is still great demand for the hardwoods.

“We all need wood, why don’t we just take it from there?” - I don’t know, maybe because it’s not your land or your wood?

I thought we passed the stage of invading certain populations and take away their resources. So this is all about what we want not what they need...leave this tribe alone. If they need you they will let you know...
