Ha, Joel your comment about talking in accents for delicate conversations reminds me of my roommates, mother and daughter. They discuss sensitive subjects between them by talking through the dog, like pretending to answer as the dog. It works for them!

So glad to hear you don’t proselytize, Joel. My rather devout sister rarely misses the chance to voice her religious views and, as an atheist, I must actively bite my tongue to avoid a fight. I would never think of pressing my atheism on her or anyone else and only wish everyone was that courteous. So many thanks for that.

I’ve been missing out. Great episode. I would listen to a series of you two discussing red/green flags and your perspectives on friend/family relationships. ❤

My mom is unconditional in her love and support. But there were a lot of red flags with my father and 1 sister that we stopped speaking. My two other sisters kept in regular contact even though we lived in 3 different states. I filled my local life close friends that came and went over the years. My motto is 'you can choose your Family but not your Relatives ' One sister has passed away, and my last sister is still close but has completely different political beliefs, but we established a boundary to not to discuss news or politics but love binds us. I have had the same with friends who are overbearing beliefs that we had to stop being friends and move on.

This was a great vlog, very relatable for many, so cheers for that. Joel, I can confirm that my lunch interaction with you was very mutual with the sharing of information, you showed a great interest in my life, so you are definitely not self centered. 🙂🙂🙂 And thanks for clarifying on the “love” vs. “loathe” thing, because I heard “love” too! 😂 You guys are great, keep it up! ❤

All great points and very important pieces to any good healthy relationship. It definitely gets tricky with family for all many layered reasons. Thank you for highlighting things like conflict resolution and being approachable. I cannot tell you how important that is to me now that I've realized that the seeming constant issues in relationships with some of my friends and family and my ex all stemmed from a common issue of them being unwilling to move thru conflict in a respectful or considerate way, and just either avoiding at all costs or dominating at all costs, or both. It takes two willing folks to go back and address things and patch them back up. And being approachable accountable when I'm doing that for something I or they did that could be better is essential for things to be healthy

This is why it is important that we Gay men have our own spaces to talk about affairs that affect us and connect with other Gay men; in the same way that straight men and women have their own spaces, and straight men and women must respect Gay spaces and respect our differences 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️ Some straight women are really invasive, but at the end, all straight people must understand that we are different and respect Gay spaces and Gay men 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈

I have to stay at first I fell in love with Keegan, but then Joel won me over and if the general public doesn’t get that on his Instagram, he’s just trying to be funny. I don’t know what to say for the world.🤣 both of you guys are hilarious. I look forward new episodes in the topics. It’s like white noise when your eps are on. Much love from the US. And I wanted to say I meant disabled person and I’m finally at 37 sticking my neck out and I’m going to try to start dating.. as of right now it sucks😂❤

My family made a joke about me at Christmas, so I decided that I would not turn up at the next family event. My grandmother's 80th birthday was on and I decided not to go, but then she got Covid and the whole party was cancelled.

The person in my family who reacted the worst to me coming out was my gay brother, of all people, because we don't share the same political views. He's told me we can't be friends because of it. That really hurt.

17:30 "They only talk about themselves and not about you." That red flag goes along with people who believe they are so witty and interesting that they have to be the center of every conversation. The term is "holding court". If I wanted to be entertained and treated like an audience, I'd go to a comedy club or a drag show. Even worse though is when there's more than one "A Type" personality in the group and they're all trying to talk at once and constantly stepping on each others lines. No one else has a chance of getting a word in edgewise. If the world's a stage then life is an ensemble piece, not a star vehicle.

People will be treated differently simply based on physical appearance. Face it, Keegan is a very good-looking guy, and if he is standing next to a less attractive guy, guess who is going to get the attention. If one is ignored based on looks, that should be a red flag to the handsome one. I wonder if good-looking people are aware of how they are treated differently?

I really enjoy the podcast. But it bugs me that you can't keep your microphones away from your face. They could easily go down to basically the top of your tummies. You need to spend some time testing the audio. I will go back in my rabbit hole now. Love you two.

Celebrity guests and such are boring. It is like implying that people need to know these people. If I wanted to know about them then I would search for them... It is not 1979.
