I love the parallels to mythology and other literary characters. They also parallel with major arcana characters from the tarot, such as the lovers, emperor, fool, magician, hierophant, judgement, high priestess. Would you consider a video including this parallel?

Yeah. Its a bit weird, bevause i can sorta pass if i try as (normalish) human for short periods... But overall i would say the schizoid description is not exactly wrong 😅 Even personal relationships.. understand them with abstract models..

“When there's a person, there's a problem. When there's no person, there's no problem." Yeah, I know this quote is usually (wrongly) attributed to Stalin, but it really is the way Schizoids like myself view the world. In my experience, other people cause me vastly more problems than they are worth. I have structured my life in a way where I can more or less minimize my contact with other people to less than 1 hour a day. The extent of my contact with other people is purely transactional - buying something at a store or the minimal interaction with co-workers. I prefer spending 95%+ of my time in isolation, doing and thinking about things of interest to me.

Yes I find personal interactions with others exhausting mentally and physically. I really have no interest in anyone else. I only make an exception for my wife and child. Thankfully they understand my way.

@@pablobendixiii5536 I too find other people exhausting. No way I could tolerate even a wife and child. I literally need at least 8 hours to clear my head for every hour of intensive social time. Kids are especially stressful. It seems like "normal" people NEVER figure out people like me. After 40 years they still seem to think I just need to "socialize" or "get out more." As if there's some magical cure for my personality, which has been what it is since I was a kid.

It looks like you read my mind. I’m only interested in social interactions with people who are more intelligent than me, from whom I can learn and grow. I couldn’t cope either with a husband and, needless to say, I have never wanted to have children. People are puzzling and tricky to read, I always feel awkward in social situations, and furthermore, they drain my entire energy. I defined myself as a hermit, even before knowing that was an archetype’s name.

@@elsaaforges It's funny because even in the year since I posted my original comment, the world has changed even more to accommodate people like myself. My job (like so many white collar jobs) is now 95%+ work from home indefinitely. Also, more and more stores offer and encourage self checkout. Can't recall the last time I had any interaction with a cashier at the market, drug store, or jiffy. I get that Covid has been a tragedy for millions of people, but it certainly has had many effects on society that I view as huge positives in the long-run. Even the mask thing is great for people like me. Unlike most, I *love* masks, because it makes it even less likely anyone will recognize me in public places.

Glad to see the next video online in English also. :) I would say that I had to learn a kind of emotional distance while developing my personality. I'm looking forward to the next videos!

A good, informative video. I believe that I have SPD, though I haven't yet been diagnosed. I have at least seven of the nine traits.

I am so glad to see that my personality matches all the traits of the hermit archetype. I am an Aspergers indeed, and that's not a pathological condition, but our brain being wired differently as it is in a neurotypical person. After watching this video I felt honored and flattered for belonging to the same team as Sheldon Cooper. On top of that, Athena -the greek goddess of wisdom- is one of the mythological figures that embodies this archetype. You made my day!

You forgot L from Death note. He's a very good example of a hermit.

Hello jimUkay, many thanks for your comment. We are sure, there are a lot more examples for this archetype. We have chosen only a few to explain this archetype. Many greetings from the HeroThink Team.
