Well done Spencer! Good to see all the new carts being deliverd. Although it is sad to see the old ones go, it's good to have something new. Just like when Fremont got rid of the Old BFI carts, then AW and so on. Anyways, great vid man.

The 20 Gallon Toters look cool. Thank you, but while retired full time residents produce little waste, the rentals, which makes up the vast majority, have an overwhelming amount of trash

This is going on in Cupertino and Mountain View with Recology. 32-64gal Garbage totes, 64gal Recycling and 96gal Compost are all being switched out to its new totes

Whoa this is awesome! Super fascinating how they do this! I know you said this was done at around 9 AM, don't the drivers get confused when they go by? They see a cart out and they think it's full, only to find out it's a brand new empty one. I thought I heard a garbage truck in the background at one point there! Looking forward to tomorrow's video, I know that'll be a good one!

Thanks!! It is cool, but sad at the same time. I don't know why they came before the drivers, Victor caught up with them about 1/2 way through and emptied the rest of the carts. They dumped the trash from the old Cascades into the new ones. That was Dale in the background. Glad you enjoyed it, I will definitely have loads more of this!

Thanks for commenting! They weren't actually 16 gal, they ran out of the carts they were supposed to use for Sonoma Marin (only the gray 30s), so they took a massive load of black 16's from SF and, as the crew told me, Recology spent days sawing out the middle false bottom to convert them to 30 gallons. Explains why half of them are brand new yet dirty as hell. Definitely not the smoothest rollout lol

That's sucks completely, there was nothing wrong with those old ones. I'm surprised that they were handing out "16 gallon" ones. They should have waited for the trucks to go by and them roll them out. So everyone is getting these or select areas only?

It certainly does. The WM Cascades hold up well over time. I was surprised by the sheer volume of SF 16s as well, pretty sure the entire North Bay region that Recology services will receive them, at least Stinson Beach is chock full of them

Agreed. Not necessarily. People don’t care to read cart labels, so, nothing changed in the long run.
