What a remarkable job you did! WOW had no idea it would turn out so wonderful. I honestly thought those cups holding the drawer pulls were plastic so when you tried to save them it was a puzzle, I am so glad you saved them it makes the piece, and with you doing the restoring it turned out fabulous. You are so talented, thank you also for talking us through your thoughts, what and why you are doing a particular treatment. A stunning restoration! I looked at all that pepto Bismo pink & it was very hard to see if the Cinderella could ever be the Bella of the ball especially with the crumbling wood decorations & all that icky white paint! Ugh! I use oxalic acid regularly and a great tip I received from a restoration professional was to use vinegar to neutralize the acid wash and then rinse several times with water. If the the crystals are not neutralized, they will continue to eat away at the top surface of the wood, damaging the integrity of the wood in the future. Hope that helps!
