...beautiful channel - love it! I feel a bit torn by the rising numbers, but it was such a mind blowing experience for myself (Camino Aragon/Frances 2005 + 2010), that I'm at the same time glad, that so many people feel called, and decide to walk it. The factory plans for Palas de Rei are appalling - thanks so much for beating the drum for the protest! May it be successful! Just some gratitude for you guys, Leigh and Johnnie, for holding up the side of respect - for the land, the people living there, and the spiritual significance of the pilgrimage - it is so much more than 'just a walk'! 🌞🙏💖

Am I crazy for even considering the Camino Frances in May 2025 … I don’t even know why I want to do it but the urge is so strong. I’ve only ever done one multi day hike for 4 days so this is huge for me. If you asked me 10yrs ago if I’d ever considering it, I’d have fallen on the floor in fits of laughter.

Maybe a good idea to have a paper to sign at the pilgrim's office start that lays out the unofficial "rules of the Camino". "I agree to poop at least 50 feet from the road and to pack out my tp."

Need to add respect for private property along the routes. Don’t enter private property, feed the animals or pick the produce! We’re guests in the country. It’s common sense and courtesy. Sometimes the entitlement witnessed is unbelievable.

Sadly maybe they need to start charging for permits to walk the Caminos and limiting the number of permits issued per quarter of the year. Meaning if you want a certificate, you will be willing to pay for a permit and this will eliminate many of those who disrespect the local population.

You pick up your dog poop, so why do people think it’s ok to leave their own shite and TP littering the route. Have some decency and better still have some respect for beautiful Spain and its people. Imagine someone taking a dump on your front lawn then think again before you litter someone else’s home, it’s disgusting. Take doggy poop bags, some zip lock bags to store for the day and dispose of appropriately 💧💩🧻 🚽
