For anyone who missed something they wanted to see slower, the play speed can be adjusted in settings. It looks like a small gear at the bottom of the screen. :) You could play it even faster also if you wanted.

I assumed you found a used engine to put in this. I think you got hell of a deal on this Hyundai considering you were able to get a new reman engine to go in it. When I started my career 12 years ago I was actually at a Hyundai dealer, and those boys were QUICK changing out short blocks. It amazed me changing out these engines in 3-4 hours every time. People like Rob definitely had a lot of practice swapping them out though, not their first rodeo 😂
@JimmyMakingitwork7 ай бұрын
Haha yeah he jokes that they need engine change stickers instead of oil change ones. :)
@mph58967 ай бұрын
That looks like the easiest engine ever to swap out. Don't even have to discharge the a/c. Axles and trans can stay in place and it comes out the top.
@NickMyers17 ай бұрын
You and Rob knocked it out of the park Jimmy. Super fast work. Great job. With a brand new engine from Hyundai new tires, new battery and a super clean car inside and out it should sell very swiftly.

Impressive install Nice job guys. I owned a 2014 Tucson and other than the usual Hyundai consumables (press in wheel bearings,viscous coupler and lower control arms) it was a relatively easy car to work on. Also non-pro tip… the drive flange bolts on the viscous coupler are left hand thread… and will break with a big enough breaker bar 😂 I only did that once. Once again great video.

Excellent team work. With a job like that it's good to have a partner that knows what to do. Thoroughly enjoyed this video. How do you keep track of all the bolts that you remove so that you put them back where they belong?
@JimmyMakingitwork7 ай бұрын
I use a magnetic tray and the lift for a job like this. I keep the top hardware in the tray and the underneath on the lift arms to help separate them. I also try and keep them in sets based on what they hold.

I'm curious as to what you had to swap to the other engine besides the accessories. You had mentioned earlier in a video thst there were a few things different between kia and hyundai.
@JimmyMakingitwork7 ай бұрын
Might not have shown in the Timelapse easily, but we swapped the intake, exhaust manifolds, compressor mount, fuel injectors and rail, injector pump, flex plate and the cam solenoid was broken so we cleaned and swapped in the old engines solenoid. We also replaced the dipstick and fuel line with a kit from the dealer they recommended with the engine. The engine did come with the water pump, crank and pump pulley, oil cooler, filter, spark plugs and some of the hoses also.

@JimmyMakingitworkАй бұрын
Awesome! This one also had a siezed crank shaft so we had to work between the trans and engine in a 1/2" gap to get the convertor bolts. We spent about 45 minutes on them alone. ;)
@raycprontoАй бұрын
Oh yes I’ve been through that lol it’s a pain but in this case when it’s seized and you can’t force the crank loose we normally just drop the engine and transmission together and makes it much easier to remove the bolts I’d say 10 mins or less. Subframe comes off in 5 mins if nothings rusty so it’s not a big deal.
